We stayed here for three nights in a pet friendly room while showing our dog nearby. The room was clean and comfortable. We were able to park directly outside our unit The staff were friendly and helpful.. Didn't eat at the restaurant but the Plank is pet friendly. Great park over the road for exercising you and your pet.
Recommend it to anyone traveling with a pet.

Room Tip: Ask for a pet friendly room where you can park out front.

The motel was chosen by friends of ours while we visiting a baseball tournament. The motel was clean and the reception staff friendly. The Plank restaurant was of a good standard, definitely better than we expected although we did think roast beef and chips was a little odd! Breakfast was a high standard and obviously very popular with the local cycling community. Suited our needs.

We spent 4 days eating at this place with our guests from all over Australia and the world. It had to be the worst food I've ever eaten. The first night was roast with only enough vegies for 3/4 of the room and when they ran out they served broccoli and no potatoes to the rest of us. The meat was full of fat. One of the meals was a big lump of lamb (almost half a roast) plonked in the middle of sweet potato mash and a couple of baby spinach leaves soaked in the fat from the lamp and there was a lot of fat on the lamp. How long does it take to carve up lamb anyway. It was disgusting. For a seemingly classy motel with a beautiful view, I expected a lot more and it wasn't cheap.

This expensive motel was shabby, not as clean as it could be, and the rooms left a lot to be desired.

This motel is in a great position for the airport and to enjoy the Glenelg foreshore.
We stayed here for 4 nights. # in a balcony room and another night in a rear room after Virgin decided not to send an aircraft to fly us home!
The rear room was OK as we only arrived back at the motel at 11pm - the biggest problem here was the cigarette station established outside our door! Complete with ashtray and plastic seating the last smoker left after 1 am - and unfortunately the stench didn't leave with them - they only took their empties and noise with the.

The staff seemed a little undertrained and that included a complete lack of any smiles on arrival and departure. Being called by my christian name on arrival certainly wasn't what I expected at all.

The balcony room is a walk up - no assistance offered to take bags to our room so we struggled up the hidden steps to get there. Not a great start.

The room needed maintenance from the bathroom grout being filthy to light switch surrounds being cracked and unsafe.

It would have been nice to be able to sleep with the balcony door open but this was unsafe as the old screen door was incapable of keeping a cat out.

The shower was controlled by two taps - no mixer - and was hard to get to give an even output - surely a mixer tap would be a basic requirement, along with a water saver shower installation.

The shower was over the bath - it should be mandatory for all motels to state that is what is installed. Getting into the bath isn't as easy as it used to be for senior patrons.

The food supplied from room service was good but once again no smile from the staff - how hard is that?

All in all a great position but really needs a major overhaul to get to an acceptable standard.

This motel is very basic. Good location and fairly comfortable but the bathroom is really dated and unattractive. However, it was clean and the staff were friendly.

A short walk from the beach, this motel is ideally situated. The staff were friendly and helpful; on arrival we were upgraded to a family room which was nice. There were only the two of us but we had a lot of stuff as I'd combined holiday with work, so the larger room was ideal.
The decor of our family room was dated but clean. However the bed (a queen I think) was very uncomfortable. The room was located on the second floor, and for some reason one set of stairs were not in use. This meant everyone used one set of stairs, which were located outside our room. The noise from other guests using one set of stairs in the morning was disappointing. When on holiday i dont like being woken up by other people.
The curtains did not adequately block out the strong morning sun, thankfully I had an eye mask that I put on once the sun came up.
