It was my families second visit to the Rocks and it did not disappoint. While they were busier and we had to ask for the menu it did not put us off. The Rocks looks onto the beach and the sunsets are magical. We witnessed a marriage proposal and even though it was busy it was very romantic for the couple. The food, once again is wonderfully presented and delicious. I had oysters 'two ways' for entrée and for main, another entrée, smoked tea duck with strawberries! Beautiful. Try a side of beans with chorizo and almonds. Desserts are not on my to do list, but the family that ordered thoroughly enjoyed. The four of us complimented the food, wine and staff. We will go again. Good value especially if you have an Entertainment card.

I spoke to a young girl whilst making this booking and I asked her for a nice table near the windows as it was for a special occasion on this coming Sunday Fathers Day and his birthday.
We arrived to find they are not even open on a Sunday!
The Glenelg Pier Hotel's receptionist just shrugged and said the girl had probably booked us into one of the other cafeteria type restaurants in the complex , try one of those... we didn't.

After quite a bit of research, we settled on The Rocks for our anniversary dinner. Made a booking at 5.00pm on the day we wanted to go, and was able to secure a table for 8.00pm. Arriving around 7.30pm, we advised the staff we were there and then enjoyed a drink in the little bar out the front of the restaurant. Around 8.00pm, one of the staff came to let us know our table was ready. We were seated, provided with menus and offered a choice of water - which was provided very quickly. The restaurant was busy and I think the person scheduled to look after us might have been a little pressed for time. Kind of had the impression that they were short staffed, but we were never made to feel unwelcome at any time. Possibly service just took a little longer to start off with than would occur usually given the limited staff. The manager saw that we were waiting and came over personally to take our drink and food order. The wine was fantastic - decanted at the table and well worth the price tag. Our entrees (soft shell crab / bug tails) were absolutely sensational - we both commented that if this was the standard of the food, it was going to be a perfect evening. The main course, although overall it was nice and very well presented, it wasn't up to the standard of the entree. The salmon skin was oversalted, making the dish less enjoyable and the steak, although it looked perfect (cooked to medium), was tougher than anticipated (very deceptive!). We both passed on dessert, but as the manager had asked if it was a special occasion, she decided to present us with a tasting of a small chocolate pot with persian floss on a beautifully decorated plate. We decided to enjoy this with some liqueur coffee and so ended a pretty close to perfect evening. Overall, we really did enjoy our visit to The Rocks, the food and service were well above average and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good restaurant in Glenelg.

Ambience overlooking the seaside sunset with the one you love, the tastiest steak ever and a glass of red in hand. Ahhhhh...
