Decided to go there at last minute- so there was a short wait! Best to book a table esp. On wknd! Alot of choice so no chance to try everything! Carvery was lovely! Well worth trying! A little noisy but not too bad considering the amount of people.

“All you can eat and it's good”

This smogsbord, self serve resturant is one of our favourites. The food is always fresh, dishes replaced quickly and attractively presented. Suitable for families and groups alike. Staff are helpful. After dinner we often enjoy a walk around Holdfast Shores enjoyong the sea air.

“Quality or Quantity”
Reviewed September 21, 2011

Located on Glenelg North at Anzac Hwy, it is well known for its 'International' Buffet. Food choices are not that various apart from the salad bar, roast beef or pork with choices of gravy, two dishes of fish. The day we went there were mussel dishes ( that week mussel prices was $ 8 per kilo at a local supermarket) cooked in Gumbo, curry and two others. Shrimps were in two different styles of dish. there chips/ fries, eggroll, Beef in black bean sauce, fried noodle and the only best one was Pandan Chicken. Several choices of cakes are not taht good and four flavor of ice cream-- unfortunately as I was taking a scoop of vanilla ice cream- the staff hurriedly took all the others serving spoons away as it was already 2:30 in the afternoon.
In short if you prefer good quality food and friendly service-- this is not a place for you. I booked by phone and was told to pay in advanced to avoid waiting in line since it would be the Aussie Father's Day- when I specially stopped by 2 days later- our name was not on tthe list. When we arrived ( 7 people ) - we were still asked to wait in line, and was given table away from the Buffet regardless the request note taht we have a 85 y.o with us. It took more negotiating, and unfriendly attitude from the senior staff .For $ 36 per adult and $12.95 for Children 5- 12 ( excluding drink ) you can get a more wonderful atmosphere, good service and definitely a lot better tasting food nearby. However the older people seem to like this place thinking they get a good deal of their money. Regular week lunch $18.95 for adult, $ 15.95 for senior. Dinner $27.95 per adult and $ 23.95 for senior. Children $ 12.95. You see with these amount you can enjoy a lot better food and ambience elsewhere.
