I nearly didn't go to the Japanese Garden as it was outside the main city area. However, it is well worth it, as it is a lovely tranquil Japanese Garden.

Came here during a weekend afternoon which is not really that hot at the time. My friend advised me to come here for a walk and drove me here. There are many good views of the small lake and overall its quite an okay garden.

This is the second time I have visited these gardens. The first time was a number of years ago. They did not disappoint. Walking around the gardens there are different and typically Japanese features. The lovely wisteria growing over the roof of the shelter is outstanding. There are lots of birds on the ponds and children were feeding them. Definitely worth a visit.

I'd highly recommend the Japanese gardens. We visited on 8 September in the "golden hour" just before sunset and could take some really good photos with fabulous lighting. The azaleas and wisteria were just past their prime and the cherry blossom has peaked, so an earlier visit may have been better for viewing those flowers. We found lots of parking close to the entrance gate within the university (it was Sunday). There are also lots of seats for elders to sit and watch if they don't feel up to walking around the garden.

Very serene, well kept and clean. Fun to take the kids to. Lots of little walkways to explore. The kids love the ducks
