Visited RedEarth Restaurant on a Tuesday evening. When arriving, the place was already almost full - we were lucky to get the almost only free table. But during the evening it was easy to understand the popularity. Surroundings were nice, service was fast (sometimes even a little bit too fast), atmosphere was casual and joyful (mainly because of a birthday party), menu offered numerous interesting choises and last but not least, the food was tasty.

Besides kitchens´greetings we enjoyed prawns and scallops as starter, continued with Eye Fillet of Beef and Duck as the main dish and finished with Cappuccino Creme Brulee and Poached Pear. Especially starters and desserts were very delicious. Our waitress recommended us a good red wine for our main courses. Also she told us about the arriving birthday party and advised us to make our orders before their arrival to avoid possible waiting.

Still a small warning: you should be really hungry if you want to go through a three course dinner, since the portions are of remarkable size!

Came here for my husband's birthday and was not disappointed.

We shared the bread and dip for entree and it was excellent. I had fantastic oysters Kilpatrick for main. I was impressed that instead of them coming out on a bed or rock salt that each oyster was placed on a little bed of mash potato. Both a clever and tasty idea. Hubby had steak and it was cooked to perfection as always.

Was really pleased that the kitchen could help out when I said, with no prior warning, that it was my husband's birthday and could they put a candle or sparkler in his chocolate pudding? Seeing that hubby was on the way back from the bathroom when letting me know the answer, the waitress was smart enough to ask if we were ready for dessert to be served yet instead of ruining the surprise. I was impressed with this and delighted with what came out. See photo.

This remains our favourite place to eat in Isa. It's a little more pricy than any of the pub meals but the serving sizes and customer service more than justify the cost.

Highly recommend it.

Mt. Isa isn't the most appealing place in my opinion; however this restaurant did serve a delicious steak. One of the better steaks I have had during my time in Australia. The servings were generous and most importantly it was cooked to perfection. The place seems to be a locals hang out probably because there aren't many other fine dining options in the area. A must eat if you found yourself in mt. isa

Have dined here a few times now in the last six months and it has been consistently excellent.

It's "upper class" for Mount Isa and the kind of place where you expect big prices, big plates but little servings. Thankfully this is not the case, the servings are huge and are worth the $15-$20 you pay for entree, $25-$40 for mains and $15-$20 for desserts. 2 courses are more than enough.

Steaks are cooked to perfection, seafood is impressive and I'm told the curry is the best in Mount Isa. There is also a good range of vegetarian items. I highly recommend the eggplant and sanganaki stack and the prawn entree.

The wine list is also good. Not huge but ample.

The only down side is that its not a big place so it gets booked out pretty quickly so make sure you book for Fridays and Saturdays a week in advance. Having said that its not cramped either, so you don't need to worry about sitting on your neighbour's lap.

Service is always good and the staff good.

Whether you're a local or just passing through, it's a place not to be missed.
