Sunset Top Tourist Park

We booked a couple of weeks in advance which was lucky as apparently the park was full. There' s a rodeo in a couple of weeks so make sure you know what's coming up. The woman at reception wasn't particularly friendly, but nor was the staff at Woolworths and even the Bottle'O. So not sure why everyone isn't happy! The bathroom is fine, paint on paint which makes it look old. Decent laundry facilities. Camp kitchen has everything you need, BBQ plates, microwave, kettle, stovetop etc. We had lovely permanent neighbours.

Stayed only one night , was going to stay longer but the manager was so rude , he has a problem with people and has no people skills and is very unwelcoming . On arrival his spent most of his time yelling at the office staff . Then on our extra day we asked were he would like us to move to , he became very nasty and we could not understand his attitude . When we questioned what was wrong he told us to leave the park . We have never been asked to leave anywhere in our lives , we were very upset by this managers attitude . When reporting this to the office staff they , said they couldn't say anything . The management needs to change in this park .

We stayed at Sunset because they accept dogs and had the cheapest unpowered sites we could find in Mt Isa. The managers weren't quite rude, but they ceratinly weren't friendly. The permamnent residents were strange and rude, kind of staring us down and then not replying when we waved and smiled. We were on an unpowered site, inbetween permanent residents and a horse paddock which backed onto the park.
The amenities weren't dirty, but they weren't quite clean either. The only positive thing were all the friendly grey nomands and backpackers who were there short term too.
We were happy to be leaving after two nights.
I guess you get what you pay for.

We stayed 1 night at Sunset Caravan Park and we had a good stay. The owners, Steve and Julie were nice and friendly, and also gave us lots of good tips, especially on a public holiday.

The campground is neat and tidy- clean campkitchen with all the facilities you need, such as 6 gas stoves, toasters, microwave, fridge, TV and barbecues. It is cleaned daily.

Book Exchange is possible. A little playground for kids is available. I would recommend to paint the wall of the amendities building to make it more "colourful" on the campground.

NO food got stolen - compared to many other campgrounds where we stayed.

We had a great sunrise the next morning.

What a great place to stay. Long time Managers/Owners were very friendly and were always walking around the Park checking on people to make sure everyone was Ok even after hours. made us feel very welcome and as well as secure. Not many permanents but a few very friendly caravaners working for short stints in town, made some nice friends. Amenities were clean and well maintained. Camp kitchen was also very clean (daily) has BBQ,microwave and oven! Did not use our kitchen at all while we were there. would defiantly stay again.

Stayed 8 nights in total on a concrete pad campertrailer site on the creekside.
Park has quite a few permanent residents we met 4 lovely couples staying and working in
Isa,they made us feel welcomed Unlike the manager of the park Steve,he was very
unfriendly and downright rude.Would not speak until spoken to 1st,no smile no waves,
No public communication skills whatsoever. He was creeping around the park at night
making us feel very uneasy.Couldnt wait to get outta there.
Park did have a good camp kitchen, pool and amenities, dumpster bins.
Would never go back while under current management,a manager with a friendly, positive
attitude would make this park awesome.

We stayed 5 nights at Sunset caravan park in mt isa last week, and we had an amazing stay. The owners, Steve and Julie are really nice and friendly, and also gave us lots of good tips and advices to make our stay in their caravan park a great time.
The campground itself is great, with a nice campkitchen with all the facilities you need, such as 6 gas stoves, toasters, microwave, fridge, TV and barbecues. The staff always make sure that the facilities they provided are clean at anytime.
We also enjoyed to have a swimm in the saltwater swimming pool of the caravan park. How great it is to refresh in such a pool, and then just chill out on a long chair, reading a book in a quiet place like this...
All our stay long we could see that the owners really looked after their beautiful park, by keeping it always clean and willing their guests to have the best stay they could have imagine here in Mt Isa.
A short walk also leads you to the city lookout. You don't want to miss the sunset down there ..
So if you go to Mt isa, we highly recommend to stay here. Great location, great value, nice people and a relaxing place. You will not find any better place to stop and ressource on your way to the red center.

Room Tip: Bungalows and Villas are really nice, and With the Air Con!
