“Great lunch specials”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 30, 2013

Recently had the $15 lunch special which was a choice of BLT, ceasar, barra etc and a drink. We both had the BLT and a glass of white wine. The meals were very tasty and loved the chunky chips.

“Good service - not good food.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 23, 2013

Friendly staff but unfortunately not great food. My friend ordered a toasted sandwich and I ordered a risotto. Both came out in about 10 min which would explain why mine was so poor. My risotto, including the veggies were not cooked properly - all very crunchy.

“Great venue in the city heart”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 6, 2013

Close to town centre, close to Sydney street markets, what can I say its just where you want to start your day if you intend to look around the "real" Mackay heart. The staff at Toscanis are knowledgeable and provide an excellent menu to choose from. The chef'f attention to detail on even the most basic of meal is faultless. Thankyou for the experience.

“Great Coffee, Food and Service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2013

This restaurant will continue to stand the test of time if they continue to serve customers like they do. The staff always have a smile and their coffee is never burnt. I love this place and just wish I could afford to get their more often.

“One of Many Lunch Options in Mackay”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 21, 2012

We had lunch Toscanis this week and there is little to encourage anyone to return. The staff are efficient but the lunch we had lacked ant significant flours. We tried a chicken skewer that was advertised as being spiced with chili and lime but lacked both. The dish was quite dry and was served with a wedge of lemon although it was supposed to be marinated in lime.

Our other dish was advertised as a lemon chicken burger but there was little or no lemon flavour at all. The mayonnaise masked all but it's flavour and that of the avocado.

Whilst it is an opportunity to lunch al-fresco watching the traffic on Gordon Street is not really as good as people watching. You will pay a premium price for just average food but it does beat eating at a food court.
