Just one night for a romantic break. Found motel to be clean, friendly with a great pool and good indoor spa. Lovely breakfast, Friendly and helpful Staff and a good price. Just right for us. Restaurant closed Sundays though, but good Thai takeaway nearby.

This hotel is located on the way into Mackay from Brisbane (South) and is one of the dozens into town. The facilities provided are reasonable but not a resort; they have a pool, restaurant and bar that is adequate for a traveller. The staff are very friendly and helpful all the time. The restaurant times are as is and the rooms are small and good for a night passing through which suited our needs. We would stay there when passing through again.

This motel is fairly new and modern. There is a restaurant and bar that spills out by the pool. On checking in I was offered a complimentary drink. My room was a weird shape. When you first walk in there is a dining room, then the bathroom, then the bedroom at the back. Having the room divided into three rooms makes it look smaller. Would have been better if the dining and bedroom were together as one space. The room was clean and I was happy staying here.

We were a family of five with a self contained unit. Although everything was very clean and the grounds and pool well maintained you really did feel like you were stepping over one another when trying to go to the bathroom.

This hotel is located very centrally to the city and has reasonable facilities(bar, restaurant and pool) but is not a resort in the real sense of the word but the staff are all very obliging. The hotel is very well kept, clean and the rooms are a good size. I would return for another stay.

I have stayed at the Mackay Resort Motel twice in the past fortnight. The first time we chose a Spa Room, which meant the bathroom had a lovely spa bath in it. Everything was okay except we had to search for the blanket as there was none on the bed. The coffee supplied was awful and they only give 3 serves of milk for a double room..... oh....kaaaaaaaaay. The Foxtel was very dodgy and we had no movie channels. Apart from these issues we were fine with the place and booked in for our next trip to Mackay the following weekend as we loved the spa bath.
BAD move! They gave us a different room, this one had a King sized bed which we were pleased with and the room seemed very nice with a big archway leading into the modern bathroom. Which was when we realised that there was no bathroom door. The bed was about 3 steps away from the bathroom and faced directly onto the bathroom mirror so from any angle you could see the toilet. Now my partner and I have been together for two years but we do not wish to see, hear or smell each other's intimate moments. So we had to vacate the motel room whenever one of needed to "go". If you stay here, make sure you ask which room they are giving you,. Do not take room 103 unless you like to watch each other pee.

Room Tip: Avoid room 103. Bring your own milk and coffee.

I read both positive and negative reviews about this so called resort. Trust me it is no resort. On checking in the receptionist couldn't find my booking which was made through wotif.com.au. I questioned her about the restaurant blue Ghecko and was told they had a new chef he had only been there 10 days and was very good.
We stayed in room 107 and yes it was clean but very basic which a strange layout the bathroom is in the middle of the room. The room is divided into two queen bed one side and two singles on the other side both with TV's. The rooms are very basic and I was say ok for sale reps, miners coming into to town to stay. Impersonally think the name of this business should be changed as the rooms are not resort quality.
We decided to eat at the restaurant an what a mistake that was. We dined alfresco because inside was not available due to a function been held. We order entree oysters Kilpatrick an garlic prawns, main twice cooked pork belly with veggies and seafood fettuccine. We waited for an hour for our entree and at this stage there was only one other person in the restrarant and he hadn't ordered. Our entree arrived and the garlic prawns looked like they had been under a heat lamp for a very long time the sauce had dried up. As soon as we finished our entree our mains were served. I think they had been sitting in the kitchen waiting as the chef might of forgot our entree. The pork belly was sent back as the veggies were stone cold. Not a pleasant experience, don't eat here.
