We had a late lunch on Sunday with family and friends and needed somewhere that could cater for teens and elderly family members AND we arrived late asking for a large table. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. The menu is not large but there was something for everyone and lots of different salads which I really like. My meal was excellent and we all had a good time. Parking was easy.

Unfortunately Elk Espresso doesn't compare to the range of restaurants in bigger cities. I have actually been here a couple of times before but somehow feel that the portions have lessened and the prices have increased since then. Came in for lunch and chose the Burger on turkish bread with a hot chocolate. The burger was average and comparable to tavern quality but the price of a trendy restaurant. For 17.90 for a so so burger, please. With it's increased popularity and 'trendy' gold coast hang out spot status, I feel that the prices have increased to reflect this. Although kudos for it's funky and hipster-esque vibe, it's nothing else more than that. Save your cash and travel to Brisbane for something less pretentious. Service wasn't great. Slow food to come out and rude waitresses. My friend asked for a tea which never came out.

Wonderful coffee and inovative breakfast menu! The Bircher muesli is simply outstanding- full of fresh fruit and topped with creamy yoghurt and honey. Hommus on toast with grilled Haloumi cheese and roast pumpkin was another change from usual eggs which are also on the menu. The staff are very friendly too. We were here for 1 week just before the recent Gold Coast marathon and never needed to go anywhere else for great coffee!.

Coffee was good, not forgetting the ambience of the cafe. A very pleasant experience. The food (we had the potato harsh with bacon)
was excellent, but food prices are slightly expensive. Service was prompt and quick! Would really want to be back there to try other stuff
