“Amazing Stay”
Reviewed July 12, 2013 via mobile

Our stay was nothing but amazing. We had room 11A The 180 degree views are breathless. Check in was simple & all staff we met during the stay where great. The rooms are a little old but have modern kitchens & bathrooms(our master bedroom had a spa. Location is so central to everything. The comment below regarding the position is nonsense. No property in Coolangatta are beach front without crossing at least one road. The resort can't move haha. Do your research a bit better, if not a 50c phone call is simple. Will be back thanks :)

We arrived with our 2 very excited grand children only to find out that this resort isn't across the road fom Coolangatta beach but another block back. When I researched the location indications were that it was positioned on the beach side of Griffiths Street. Not so and not happy. Next we are told that the heating in the heated pool isn't working but we could walk 500 mtrs up the road to their sister resort and use their heated pool. Come on, it is the middle of winter, do you think we are going to traipse 500 mtrs up the road to use another resorts pool! Next we get up to our apartment which is very well laid out but on the third floor it is very noisy from constant traffic in Griffiths Street. Next time to put the children to bed and the beds are made up with NO blankets. They are in the wardrobes but I'm on holidays and not happy about having to remake 3 beds before I go to bed. Then I find out that the 1 blanket provided is too small for a queen sized bed. IT IS WINTER and the final insult is NO AIRCONDITIONING (or heating). This resort is a tired and in need of a makeover. No walk-in shower in the en-suite rather a spa bath with a shower over the top. No shower curtain and quite outdated tap ware. We did check out the rates which seemed pretty good for school holidays at $168/night but now we know, you get hat you pay for.

Room Tip: Certainly not on the 3rd floor. If you want a quite room and you would need to be much, much higher...

Having just spent a month at Beachcomber, we have decided that it will be our regular escape from Melbourne's Winter. We have spent several weeks there in recent years, enjoying the welcoming atmosphere of the resort and the Cooly Rocks festivities- viewed from our eleventh floor balcony.- in early June. Each time we have had friends from overseas and interstate to share our weeks. We are both almost 80, so spend our holidays at a different pace, enjoying Tweed River Cruises, bus trips down the coast, meals and entertainment at clubs close by, and generally living a life of leisure. The convenience of shops within walking distance, the short walk to the beach are bonuses! On our lazier days we could watch the world passing by. From our high North-end apartment we could watch the beach walkers, surfers from front balcony, Griffith St activity from the side balcony, and the bowlers from side or back. Not being as mobile as we might wish, the situation is ideal.
The staff are great, offering practical help regarding use of public transport, booking early morning calls and pre-booking taxis to see we do not miss our homeward flights!!They stayed calm when we burnt the toast and set off the smoke detectors, just advised us to open the balcony doors. We have reached a stage in life when we need all the help we can get and appreciate the efficient service we receive from reception, domestic and security staff. We have been to over forty time-share resorts in Australia and U. K. with years of happy memories and Beachcomber has not let us down. And all our many guests have loved Beachcomber, too.

Room Tip: End rooms give views on three sides. Higher floors have uninterrupted view over beach and headland.

I booked my son and grandchildren here for a week. The apartment was well presented, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The facilities offered were great, as was the staff. Check in and out was fast, the kids adored the pancake breakfast and the rooftop pool.

We spent a week here in April in a one bedroom apartment. The sofa folded out to a double bed for the children to share.
The rooms were clean and comfortable, everything you need is there. The bonus of having a laundry in the bathroom was great. Resort facilities were more than expected, when the children mentioned at reception we were going to the beach, the lovely receptionist (Gloria) told us about the boogie boards that were free, yes free! to borrow to take down to the beach. The kids thought is was Christmas
Car parking at the resort was very safe and secure. Everything in Coolangatta was close by, Aldi, Bakers Delight, banks and other stores.
We caught a cab to the resort from the airport before we hired a car, cost of cab was $14.00.

We had a two bedroom apartment facing Griffiths Street, love sitting on the balcony watching Coolangatta go by. Walk to the beach (5mins), walk to at least 20 great eating places. Bus at the doorstep, two pools, games rooms, wonderful, helpful staff. Very clean all of the guests are so friendly, we will be back again. Oh there is a rooftop spa, BBQ area and if you like pancakes then make sure you book in for there breakfast. Easy, relaxing family friendly holiday. Thanks Beachcomber for a fun stay.

Room Tip: We loved looking over the main street, it kept us entertained.

We exchanged our RCI points for a week close to home rather than travelling overseas, for a change. What have we been going away for when everything we do in another country is right on our doorstep. Our family came down to join us for the weekend with their children and we all had a wonderful time. The Tweed Heads Bowling club was just down the road, Twin Towns around the corner, beach only one street away, McDonalds over the road, Bakery down the main road was fantastic, local shops with great bargains, Aldi in the shopping mall, everything was handy. We even got to see the surf championships as they were on at the same time, so we timed that very nicely. Staff were friendly and helpful, unit was clean and much nicer than some we have stayed in. WiFi, forget it! used the computer in the games room.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the beach on the eight floor were very nice, higher up may have been a better view thou...
