we were staying a few days in Rainbow Bay and found this little gem on our morning walk and decided to try it out for late Sunday afternoon drinks and tapas. Great feel to the place with relaxing live music. Couldn't fault the service and the tapas dishes we ordered were delicious and well presented-especially the Arancini Good selection of wines at a reasonable price.
Have booked another holiday in Rainbow Bay next year so will certainly be eating here again!

Had breakfast on our last day in Coolangatta and ended a perfect holiday. I had the Breakfast Trifle and mango smoothy and my wife had the Spanish Beans with poached eggs. Both were very good. Service was efficient, views were great. Worth a visit.

Both time I've been to d'bar the food as been great BUT the service is so slow ' the place is full and there seems no sense of urgency to get food to the customers ! The wait is a good 35 mins so don't go there hungry be prepared to have a long wait . There were 6 of us eating we all ordered at the same time the food came out at separate times which was disappointing ! Total let down !

Food takes ages, but is great once you receive. Fresh Juices/frappes come out faster than coffees! Floor and kitchen staff have no sense of urgency! You'll wait minimum 20 min for your first drink and closer if not longer than 40min for food. Don't waste your time ordering a second drink.

I've visited cafe Dbar several times as a frequent visitor to family nearby, and usually don't have a bad word to say about the place. However, this visit, we arranged reservations for a weekend breakfast for 9 people, and I feel they just cannot cope with groups this size. This was in July, so not peak season by any stretch of the imagination.
Upon our arrival, the table we were meant to have was still occupied by a family eating breakfast, which led to an annoying wait, but these things happen.
They accommodated our several orders on one table without an issue, as we paid separately at the time of ordering, so no problems there.
The drinks took at least 20 minutes to arrive, with over 20% of the drinks ordered incorrect, with the waitress passing off varying coffees as other things to match our order.(you ordered a soy latte, oh yes, this isn't a regular cap- there you go).
They did replace the incorrect drinks, but again, this took some time. It was a similar story with the food, the orders took a great deal of time, and came out sporadically, so all but two members of the party had finished before the last breakfast had arrived, it seemed to be the orders were all started simultaneously, so fruit and musli came out first, the fried egg, then ages after, the omelette turned up.

Overall, a lovely spot, nice cafe, but totally unable to cope with groups. A very disappointing group breakfast unfortunately.
