“Not so good”
Reviewed April 6, 2013 via mobile

We stayed here on the campsite, the indoor pool was good. The weather didn't help (obviously not their fault) but the site was far away from the toilet, of which there only was one for a large campsite. The amenities were old, looked dirty and there was one sink with no soap for about 10 stalls. It was 10c for about 4mins of cold shower time. I know, it isn't much, however you'd expect that paying for the site would include the showers? We were there three days and called previously to book. On calling, they didn't inform us the pool area would be closed for two of the three days, which was a main reason for booking here. Nothing much by way of a town nearby. There was a restaurant/bar across the road called oscars which was the on,y option for eating as there was no store nearby. It was ok, busy as it was a Friday. I would not stay here again. Although the staff seemed pleasant enough we payed well over the odds for the amenities when we weren't told the pool etc were out of order. Bad vibe after a long drive.

My partner and I took my 3 younger siblings here about over a year ago. I purchased the family package which included tickets to Jamberoo. As there was 5 of us I had to pay extra for the 3rd child. the packaged included coffee for adults and ice cream for kids, but when we got there they did not all the vouchers like promised and I didn't end up redeeming them as I don't know where to redeem them.
The accommodation was clean and peaceful; with tennis court, mini golf which we had a lot of fun playing and a swimming pool which I thought looked a bit dark and uninviting. But the resort was in walking distance to the beach which we enjoyed and lots of wild rabbits in area which we loved watching them.
We drove to Jamberoo at the beginning of the warm season so we practically had the park to ourself. We were able to go on any of the rides as many times as we pled with virtually no queue.
Oscar bar across the street from the resort serves the best pork ribs I've ever had, it started my love affair with ribs.
In conclusion, the resort was clean in good location but could improve on their service.

Just recently had a girl's weekend at the resort to celebrate a friend' birthday and thouroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The family cabin we stayed in was simple, clean and comfortable and backed out onto a nice grassy area with a BBQ. The facilities were excellent, however, for us the biggest plus was proximity to the beach which was lovely. We enjoyed dinner at the pub across the road and recommend the pizzas. Fortunately our neighbours were very quiet so it was a very peaceful night. Would definitely stay here again. Only recommendation would be to have some basic condiments in the kitchen eg salt/pepper/ cooking oil.

We recently celebrated our sons wedding in Wollongong and stayed at Surf and Leisure. It surpassed all our expectations, unbelieveable family accommodation with great activities there, the 25m indoor pool was the best, spa, sauna, table tennis, putt putt, tennis courts everything packed into one for a great weekend. The staff were amazing, helpful and friendly, there was about 50 of us all staying there and it was the best time for everyone, our sons wedding topping off the weekend. We are all excited to return there on a yearly basis and totally recommend surf and leisure for the best family accommodation, or any accommodation for that matter. Thank you surf and leisure.

Having stayed in a variety of family accommodation styles (including camping), I found our 1 bedroom air conditioned room to be one of the best. Although the layout of the cabin was unusual, it was a clever use of space, with a front and back door (back door leading out into a grassed common area with BBQs), own parking spot, and large living area. 4 of us stayed for 2 nights but the room could accommodate six (2 extra on the large corner lounge).

You could tell that someone had made good solid design and product choices - hard-wearing vinyl floor, good quality laminate benches and everything was clean and tidy, NOT worn and decrepit as you may find in older, poorly maintained facilities.

There is a large permanent population but they are in a separate area. Large indoor 25m pool was fantastic (used during school hours for swimming lessons) along with the putt putt golf, tennis facilities and easy proximity to the beach. And having the main bike path into Wollongong passing through the park, it allowed for easy access on two wheels into town.

Room Tip: Reduce costs by choosing a room with no A/C if you can manage without it.

The staff has always been polite. The room is basic but adequate. Quite a reasonable price we noticed for the area. Great if you have children. There's a bit of space. Be prepared for the kids to take over your bed to have a comfortable spot to watch tv though :)

It is a great place to walk around with the children. The playground is nothing special and has no shade though there's the indoor pool and a quick walk to the beach. A short drive to other beaches that had life guards.

With the pool though there are times that they do NOT advertise that guests are not allowed to use the pool. We were asked to get out and vacate several times so that the swim schools could use it. Once there were only a few students and the swim teacher was ok for us to use a small section but all the other times we had to completely vacate the area. They should advertise this!

We have stayed here on quite a few occasions. One weekend was terrible for noise. (all the other times have been fine) There were drunk people stumbling around the place, screaming, very loud music and this went on till early hours of the morning. They had security drive around until it ended though they did not stop it even though they advertise they control things like this and would evict people. Though this has only happened once so maybe unlucky weekend we picked!

Overall for the price for a beach holiday it was a good price :)
