“Disappointing .. High tea”
Reviewed September 19, 2013

We recently went to high tea for a friends birthday... The view is lovely over looking the ocean but that's where the pleasant experience ends.

The room itself was crowded & noisy.

Sandwiches were served on a large plate, with little decoration.

The pastries & cakes arrived on a tree tiered cake stand. The scones were hard & tough, not light & fluffy as they should be. The next tier revealed savories, some in a sweet pastry case, over cooked & dry. Third tier, sweet, again disappointing, pastry cases still burnt. I think of the whole selection, there was maybe one or two that were nice.

On a positive note, you do get unlimited cups of tea or coffee but the cups need changing if the tea selection is changed... It wasn't. We even had a male staff member poor a cup of tea & place the strainer directly on the white table cloth.

For the price of $44, I expected more attention to detail. My friends & I won't be going back.

“Not impressed”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

I went to a high tea and found the experience highly disappointing. I found it to be very overpriced for what was given. A few bits of sliced up sandwiches and bits and pieces of food on a three tiered stand. Didn't find it at all tasty and for $44.00 per head I expected more. The view is great but that's not what I'm paying for. Extremely disappointed.

Good food. Lovely friendly staff. Seafood and steak very nice. Went with friends and liked the idea they had live musician as well. Good for couples and small groups that like intimate dining.

“Superb Fine Dining Seafood Restaurant”
Reviewed May 19, 2013

It's not cheap and it's not a restaurant you'll go to everyday, but if you love seafood and want to celebrate an occasion in style, Seacliff is highly recommended. The care taken to prepare the food is evident in the presentation and experienced in the tasting. None of the sauces or seasoning was overpowering, and the chefs have clearly made it a point to let the freshness of the seafood speak for itself.
