Description: Mi Casa is Tapas Restaurant. Currently run by Local Award winning husband and wife team, Brendan and Jennis Field, who are both qualified Pastry Chefs. With Years of experience in the hospitality industry, including setting up a successful Pie and Pastry cafe in Chatswood. The move back to Port Macquarie, and the decision to take on a Tapas restaurant, with 2 young children at home, has been a challenging one, but also very rewarding.

The service was lovely, the location very nice. The mixed tapas platter was amazing!! For $30, we got two paddles full of half a dozen or more tapas, plus breads and olives. Perfect for two people. We also ordered a paella, but it was just average. Very salty with a tomato/stock flavour.

Fortunate to have some friends visit whilst working in Port & having eaten here on a previous trip suggested they might like to try.
Once again the team at this small, quaint restaurant didn't fail to deliver.
The four of us left feeling totally satisfied with the presentation, quality & quantity to the point I think our friends will certainly be visiting this restaurant the next time they are in Port Maquarie.

We noticed this restaurant on a walk around Port Macquarie and having previously eaten at a very good Spanish restaurant in Sydney decided to give it a try. The location, ambience and service were all very good, however, the food did not meet the same standard. The sardine tapas (one sardine) was overcooked and the main of seafood in crushed tomatoes (zarzuela?) was extremely light on for seafood (2 mussels, 4 prawns, 4 tiny squid rings and a few tiny pieces of fish - no scallops). It came with 2 small pieces of bread and when I asked for more I was charged $1.50 for 2 more pieces. For $30 this was a complete rip off.

I was initially confused reading the reviews until I noticed the dates and saw that the restaurant had changed hands a few months (?) ago. And the new owners have presented a delicious menu, and a very professional, friendly, yet relaxed image. We were staying In Port for 3 nights and we ate at Mi Casa 2 nights. The food was delicious- hot, tasty, varied and filling. The first night we ordered 2 tapas (meatballs in tomato sauce and seafood soup) and my taste buds had a party ! We then decided to try the dessert sampler which consisted of servings of churros with a divine chocolate sauce, a creme brûlée, a delicate orange-flavoured marscapone dish, a slice of chocolate torte (so light and delicious) and a slice of almond tart with orange syrup….not sure if those names are correct but you would recognise them. All were fantastic. And of course, we came back another night to try the mixed tapas plates of thinly sliced ham, chorizo, delicate lamb, tender calamari, spicy prawns, olives, fresh crusty bread and more..all great. The restaurant was full both nights -you can eat inside or on the verandah outside looking over the river. The staff were relaxed (but busy) and friendly and we had a pleasant chat with the chef when we came to book the second night. This would have to be one of the best restaurants for FLAVOUR I have dined in. Well worth the drive up from Sydney !

Food range was good for vegetarian, meat eaters, seafood, like chilli, not like chilli etc. tapas were reasonable size. Dessert was yummy choices . Skip the sangria. Staff friendly and helpful. Nice view of water, right in centre of town. Nice evening with friends. Service slow, but was Tuesday night and maybe not expecting a bigger group like us.
