Paul was a good host..told us everything about the what's good and not so good (especially the food) in Port Macquarie. Showed us where to go via the scenic route around Port Macquarie. The place we stayed in was good the only down side to the place was the shower area flooded and I had to mop the excess water in the bathroom.

Thank you for your great review. We are only too keen to point out the many natural beauties of Port Macquarie to our guests. (Regarding the shower, we do have very strong water pressure, but the bathroom is designed as a wet room and the water soon drains away.)
Hope you enjoyed the rest of your tour. Paul & Trish

Recently stayed 4 nights at Beachport B&B. Very impressed. Paul was an excellent host. Met us on our arrival & the afternoon tea was a really nice touch. Then didn't see him till our departure, however fresh towels just appeared on the afternoon of day 2, as did the resupply of the breakfast supplies - really felt like it was our place, but things don't just appear like that at home. The weather was great so breakfast outside on the verandah when it suited us was great. The bed was vert comfy and the overall presentation of the room was excellent. The free wi-fi was a bonus as not all accom places offer what is now becoming almost an essential. Overall we had a great stay and will hopefully be able to stay there again on our next visit to Port.

I booked this for my son & girlfriend as we had a full house at the time and it was not far from our home as we live in Port Macquarie. The first night of their stay they came to our house for a shower as there was no hot water or any water for that matter. They were told there was a problem with the plumbing and also told not to drink the water. ( they were given bottled water). Breakfast was cereal in little boxes and some fruit. Disappointing. The owners obviously need some training in what constitutes a proper Bed & Breakfast. I find it typical of the Port Macquarie mentality, and people wonder why they don't get repeat custom.

This is the first time that we have felt it necessary to respond to a review on TripAdvisor.

We try our very best to look after the welfare of our guests. On the evening in question, shortly before your son checked in, we became aware that there was a problem with the water coming in to our property from the Council water mains in Pacific Drive, resulting in a discolouration in the water. We informed your son of this, provided bottled drinking water and suggested that he refrain from showering until advice from the Council that the water was safe. There was never a problem with our plumbing - we have a large solar water heating system and always have plenty of hot water.

Regarding our breakfast, we do offer the small boxes of breakfast cereal, but they are in addition to the large containers of cereals we offer as standard - Weetbix, Cornflakes and Muesli. We also provide yoghurt, either orange juice or juicing oranges (electric juicer in the room),a choice of breads, butter, a variety of jams and a good selection of fresh seasonal fruit. Coffee (both instant or plunger) and a wide variety of teas, as well as a choice of either light or full cream milk are always available in the room.

We did apologise to your son for the temporary inconvenience ( the water was back to normal the same night ). It is unfortunate that we have received such a harsh review for a situation that was completely beyond our control and which we did our best to resolve.

We have been operating for about 5 years now and, as the previous reviews will attest, the vast majority of our guests have been very satisfied with our little B & B. In fact we do not advertise at all and rely heavily on repeat business and word of mouth recommendations.

I stayed here 3 nights whilst on business in Port. Very warm and friendly hosts who were welcoming and attentive during my stay. The room was spotless and the bed so comfortable that I slept way past my normal wake up time. I liked that all the breakfast supplies were in the room ...and there were plenty of supplies, so I could just have brekky at my own pace and not feel rushed. I chose this accommodation because it was away from the CBD. A 5 minute drive back into town doing 50 km all the way is no big deal. The fact that it is opposite a lovely forest and beach walk s a bonus. Shelley beach has a sheltered swimming area that is very safe and i had a lovely swim there. Just be a bit careful of rocks under foot. The rest of the beach is unpatrolled and there are strong currents, so common sense needs to prevail here. Beachport will definitely be a regular on my trips to Port.

This is a good valued B&B offering a quality environment within a home...Paul the owner met us with some home baking to go with a cuppa tea....he took his time to show us all we needed to know.. The breakfast was already in the fridge and cereals etc in the cupboards..access to tea/coffee at anytime... We had the garden room at the back which had it's own decked seating area in the garden....Big flat screen TV a quality comfy bed with a further single bed in the corner, and good bathroom facilities with all amenities available. We had full use of the kitchen adjoining, which included kettle, fridge, freezer, iron, washing machine, microwave etc...Paul had left us fresh fruit, some oranges to make our own fresh juice if we wished..Cereals,bread, jams, (gourmet jams seperate), and yogurts also available...You are located a little way out of town, but the beach (Shelly and the reserve , literally across the road) are clean and worth a visit. Paul was so welcoming and helpful with ''things to do and see''.....he was an excellent host ...would recommend this accommodation for the peace and quiet, good beach, so close and clean pleasant environment...

Room Tip: If you want garden facilities there are two rooms on the ground floor....

We stayed here for two nights on our way up the coast. Whilst the place is slightly out of town (5 min drive), it is close to a great beach and the rainforest centre. Do not stay here though if you expect to be in the hub of Port. We were the only guests, so we had the best room. It was spotless, nicely decorated and had a nice little deck out the back door, which was lovely for having breakfast. Breakfast provisions were great, we were stuffed both mornings (lots of bread, jams, fruit, cereals, yoghurt, tea, coffee). There is also a washing machine in the kitchen area, which was great for us as we'd been travelling for some time. The guest rooms are separate from the owners accommodation, so we didn't have that awkward feeling you get in some B&Bs. The owners were very generous and helpful during our stay... like giving us extra clothes airers for our washing when the weather turned and offering us a discount price on an additional night as it had rained most of our time there. The only down side is that there is a construction project at the back of the property. There was some minimal noise (at a reasonable time) and it looked like it was nearly complete. Parking was also a bit tight (we have a stationwagon though). The only other thing was that our first impressions were not great as when we pulled up to the drive, the owners had their laundry hanging in the garage with the door open! Just made it look a bit tatty as a first impression. However, we were really pleasantly surprised by our stay here. The tariff was good value.

Room Tip: Ask for the back room with the deck in the backyard.
