“Nothing special”

While my parents rave about this, my family and i find it to be an averge chinese resturant with cheap furniture that makes you feel is going to break under you. I dont think its value for money

“Dont get the Banquet”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2013

On high recommendations from two lots of family, we went with a large group during the xmas holidays and chose the banquet to make it easier... poor poor choice. All the food seemed like it was sitting in a hotbay all night. Service is fine and im sure the other meals on the menu are good, but we certainly didn't enjoy it on this night. Might be a while before we 'try' it again.

“Best Chinese in Port”

Great service, beautiful food, wonderful staff, go there all the time, never disappointed, phone orders, eat-in, take-away or delivery reasonably priced.

“Our low expectations were met but we were still disappointed”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 27, 2012 via mobile

We didn't expect authentic Chinese food; just good quality flavorsome Westernized Chinese food. The sort we get from other local seaside holiday spots and enjoy quite happily. Unfortunately, what we were served was over-seasoned and over-colored dishes with low quality vegetables and lots of thickened sauce. One of the chicken dishes was so red in color that we didn't even eat it. The dumplings (dim sims) were hard and low in flavor and, therefore, also went uneaten. Again, we didn't expect hand made pork dumplings oozing with delicious flavors but what we got was just awful. The service was just as underwhelming. Our server was quite rude and short and not at all interested in giving us a good experience. She was probably tired and grumpy and wanted to be at home but that wasn't our fault. The dinner was not expensive but as we left two dishes uneaten, it wasn't good value either. I'd prefer to pay more and get better quality. Overall, it was a huge come-down after the fantastic lunch experience we'd had earlier in the day. Gorgeous, friendly staff at a tiny cafe in a sleepy seaside town served us fresh sandwiches full of delicious fillings, washed down with good coffee and to die for home made cakes. Tonight's restaurant could learn about good service and fresh food from that cafe.

“Good Food, but noisy”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 26, 2012 via mobile

We have eaten Chinese food all over the world ranging from casual family-owned to gourmet. For the price and location, our experience was good. The night we dined, the food arrived hot and was tasty. There was also plenty of it. Reading some of the other reviews, we have to wonder if this restaurant has more than one chef and we got lucky with the good one.

We happen to like the kitsch collection of china plates on the wall.

Our only complaint is that the staff were "playing" with the owners(?) child throughout the meal which resulted in unnecessary noise. We finally said something about this, which resulted in the "hairy eyeball" from one particular person for the rest of the evening.
