“Excellent food in romantic setting”
Reviewed January 6, 2011

We celebrated my boyfriend's 30th birthday there, we had excellent and tasty food, good wine and service was personal and excellent as well. The atmosphere is really nice, calm and romantic...It's really worth the money compared to some other overpriced restaurants.
I'd recommend an evening there for special occasions or just a very nice dinner during a stay in the Hunter Valley.

“Over Priced Over Rated”
Reviewed January 4, 2011

We had dinner here while staying in the Hunter Valley. Roberts has very nice interior but is in the middle of no where so if your planning on drinking you need to go by taxi. Problem there is that there seems to be only 4 taxis in the nearby town of Cessnock so expect to wait along time to get collected, and to get to the restaurant you need to book taxi well in advance.

The meal itself was average but very overpriced. Winelist is good but again very overpriced. There was no atmosphere in the restaurant but then it was a tuesday night.

We where told by local people that this once fabolous restaurant had changed management in recent year.

“Fine Dining”
Reviewed December 29, 2010

We were in the Hunter Valley with friends with kids for the weekend. The kids are toddler age. Nonetheless, Robert's accomodated us perfectly. The restaurant is dimly lit, but the atmosphere is great. The serving staff are very professional. The menu had something for everyone, and the food well cooked. A very pleasant experience, would definitely dine there again.

“great meal, but expect to pay for it!”
Reviewed October 31, 2010

After a day of wine tasting, my boyfriend and I came here for dinner after reading wonderful reviews. The food was excellent, service was great.. but it was pricey. We didnt even drink wine with dinner after being wined out from tasting all day, and our bill came to $200 with 2 entrees, 2 mains and a shared dessert. Excellent excellent food though.. I had the zuccini entree and salmon main.. and my boyfriend had some beef entree and pork belly for a main.. yummmmmy =)
