We had a wonderful long lunch here...everything about it was lovely...wonderful setting, great service, beautiful food...

The only slight grumble would be it was slightly too salty..but the wonderful little "surprises" they gave us along the way more than made up for it...

Go and you'll understand what I mean!

Highly recommended for any special occassion....would be a great place to celebrate anything even slightly romantic!

Our table was not ready for our 8.30pm booking so we suggested having a drink by the open fire in the sitting room. 10 minutes later our drinks order was taken, 5 minutes later we were advised our table was ready and to please come through to the dining room. Took another 10 minutes for our first round of drinks to arrive to the table. Off to a slow start.

Bread was not brought out, we had to ask for it whilst waiting for our entrees.

Entrees arrived in reasonable time, however there was an hour between entree & main arriving. Looking around the restaurant it seemed no-one had food on their table. Wait staff were standing at the pass with nothing to do. Maybe there was a mishap in the kitchen or maybe the kitchen is just badly run.

To be eating main at 10.30pm for an 8.30pm booking is disappointing.

The restaurant itself is beautiful and the food when it did arrive was fantastic. There is a new manager in place so hopefully things will improve. Once the service issues are addressed it will be a highly recommended restaurant.

Booked for 2 adults and 2 children. Arrive and told no childs menu. Order olives to start, 40 minutes to arrive. No entrees. Main 1 hour 40 to get to table, as third group in restaurant. Split a duck dish for children, tried and almost inedible on flavour. Vegetables poor, cold and inedible with an overly peppered character. Only saving was rib eye was above average but over priced.

Made the mistake of ordering the fish - shell fish was not fresh and the tiny fillet was dry, overcooked and tasteless - when we mentioned this to the waiter we were surprised to hear the reply, " Didn't the sauce compensate for this?" So don't bother - very overpriced ( for very small serves that will leave many still hungry) when there is so much competition in the valley - You can do better than here as there is a wide selection of excellent restaurants to choose from.
