I was in the HV with a party of about 20 for my father's 50th birthday. We had made a reservation for dinner about a week in advance. On the day of the dinner, we arrived early and found that the inside was like eating in a garage so we requested to be seated outside instead (in any case, we arrived with 2 minutes to spare for our 8pm reservation and there definitely wasn't a table for 20 ready).
We were told that as we were seated outside, we had to walk inside ourselves to order food and drinks since they were 'very busy' and didn't have time to wait on us.
They were not kidding. We had to make the tripa backwards and forwards each time we wanted something. One of our party requested water, and the waitress returned with a glass of water. Her partner then requested water for the table, and the waitress returned with one bottle (for a party of 20). We ordered wine and it was brought out along with about 20 glasses. After placing 4 of the glasses down at our end of the table the waitress turned to leave and I had to prompt her to offer glasses to the rest of the table. She replied that noone else had ordered wine and we suggested that perhaps it would be good to ask if anybody wanted anything to drink.
On a positive note, the food did not take as long as one would have expected, given how much was ordered, however it was quite pricey considering the serving size and the exact same meal could have been found at many other venus for half the price (avg. $25 per main). Given the total cost, the service should have been better. That being said the food was of reasonable quality (although lacking authenticity).
With tables outside (and a lovely view), they seemed ill equipped to have outdoor dining. Because it was a cloudy day it darkened quickly, and no candles or other lighting had been put out making it impossible to see what we were doing without the aid of an iphone.
It would only be fair to note that at the end of the meal, they brought out my father's cake with candles unprompted.
In general, I would not recommend this venue for a special occasion. Perhaps take-away is the only way to really enjoy it!
