“Mid week break”

We had Breakfast and Evening meals here every day whilst we were in the Hunter Valley. Breakfast was buffet style with hot and cold food being available. Evening meal menu was so vgood we had to eat there every night to get them all in.

“Your security guards need to learn some peoplke skills”
Reviewed July 14, 2014

Good morning, myself and members of our golf club whom were staying at The Crown Plaza decided last Saturday night 12th July on my recommendation to head to Harrigans for dinner and a few drinks. Atmosphere was great, drinks were reasonably priced, and the food was magnificent. At 9.30pm after discussion with a few mates, i decided to haed down to your bottle shop to enquire regarding closing time, this was to take a few drinks back to our room at the Plaza which was fine, the gentleman in the bottle shop was most polite, and helpful. With that i decided to head back inside to join my friends, please let me add i had consumed "three scooners of beer" not intoxicated, not being offensive in any way, not endanging any other patron, and finally not being abusive or unfriendly in any way. Whilst making my way up the stairs i was confronted by one of your security people and "requested to leave" when i asked why, there was no plausable reason given, when i requested an answer for a second time two more heavies joined there fellow employee with stand over tactics, and intimidation, i basically thought if i asked again i would be physically harmed, they had that air about them. I am a 51 year old grandfather, and can proudly say up until last Saturday had never been asked to leave a licenced premisis, im an accountant, not an idiot. Its a real shame my daughter is getting married next year in the Hunter, and i was looking at accomodating our guests at Harrigans about 2 dozen of them, its not happening now, i will be looking elsewhere. We also have a lady at works who was going to organise her husbands 60th there as well, no sorry ive turned her off the idea, thats not happening either. May i suggest you look at security people with some people skills, not just to heavy people. Finally i understand they have a job to do, and im all in favour of unruley, intoxicated, and agressive patrons being given there marching orders. I felt humiliated, being treated like some low life loser.

“Good Pub Grub”

We had the ribs (enough for 2). They were great, very tasty with lashings of sticky sauce. Washed down with one of the many on tap beers it was a good night out.

“Pleasantly surprised”
Reviewed July 13, 2014

Meet friends here for lunch on a Friday to start our weekend in the Hunter. We had been to Harrigan's previously and had a good experience but reading recent reviews we were a bit apprehensive agreeing to meet here, but were pleasantly surprised.
Greeted as we entered and led to our table on our way shown where to order our meal. Many tables filled, ordered our meals which arrived within 10 minutes. Chicken pizza and calamari salad were favourites amongst the adults. Kids loved the bowl of fries with tom sauce or aioli.
Pizza around $20 easily feed two if you wanted. Calamari $18. Bowl of chips $8.
Grabbed a few drinks from the the bar, a pleasant lunch for all.

“Tasty food and atmosphere”
Reviewed July 12, 2014

We spent two nights in Harrigans Irish Motel adjacent to the Hotel proper. While there we enjoyed the hospitality of the hotel. Very popular so if you are in a hurry, you need to reserve a table. There are a variety of things on the menu. The food is not absolutely outstanding but you won't go hungry. Reasonable value for money and worth a crack if you are staying in house.
