This pub offers hearty meals in a delightful setting. The food is tasty and I can recommend the pie as it is delicious. The staff are friendly and the service quick. It is next to the Hunter Valley Gardens and so one does not have to travel far to enjoy a meal out.

Great pizzas, schnitzels. Nice outdoor eating area. Music/band was a little too loud so talking to people was difficult. Had to yell. Very relaxed atmosphere though.

Visited Hunter Valley for a few days over the New Year was surprised to come across an Irish Bar looked lovely from the outside clean and appealing. Resort I was staying in recommended it for New Years Eve as there wasn't much happening in the resort that night myself and my partner decided to call down on the afternoon of New Years Eve as it was a ticket only event. Anyway asked about the tickets at the bar and one bar man advised just turn up as there should be tickets available at the door another girl (who was not in the slightest bit friendly) then said no Id advice you to book on-line so with a mixed response we both decided to just turn up as being slightly out of the way from everything we didn't expect it to be sold out!!
Arrived that evening and got tickets at the door no problem! Not much to report really about the evening had some dinner which wasn't bad not much of an atmosphere and left shortly after the countdown. As there wasn't many places open due to it being New Years Day we decided to go back and try the breakfast only to be served by the same girl who advised us on purchasing the tickets the day before which I'm sure she remembered our faces asked about breakfast and we were advised we had missed it by ten minutes which was fair enough but it was the unfriendly attitude she had the same as the day before when asked about the tickets I kind of got the feeling it was because we were Irish ourselves! Then asked for a drink and whilst serving she proceeded to chat among her other staff members and had this cant be bothered with you attitude and near enough threw the change into my hand!! Very disappointed as it is a great bar inside and out they just need to trade their staff members for people who can deal with the public and show a bit of manners!

OK, it's a corporate Irish pub, but it's fine. Decent grub, huge portions, friendly service, busy lively atmosphere, good value, live music when we were there ... good place ...

A group of 10 of us went to Harrigans for New Year's Eve last night. We paid $189 each, collective total almost $2000.
The event was advertised as 'VIP', what an absolute joke.
The function starting time was 7pm, so we made sure we arrived early to secure seating. Upon arrival at 6pm we were told the entire pub was closed and we were not allowed in until 7pm. You would think this would have been communicated on their website, or at least during the ticket purchase process, especially considering so many of their patrons were not from the area.
Between 6pm and 7pm a line began to form. Although we had paid for 'VIP' tickets, we were told that there was no separate line and were forced to wait with people who had paid the $50 general admission price.
Once we finally entered the 'VIP' section, we were disgusted to see that there were not even enough tables and chairs to seat everyone. Two of the men in our group approached security to ask whether a table and chairs for our group of 10 could be arranged, their response was 'we'll see what we can do'. Half an hour later they had still not moved or attempted to rectify the situation, so we had to move our own chairs from the TAB area of the pub. How embarrassing for the management of this establishment to see their VIP guests moving heavy furniture.
We then had to wait in extensive bar lines to get a drink as although there was at least 200 people on this area, there were only 2 bar tenders.
A line for the seafood buffet is of course expected, however to finally arrive at the buffet table and realise they have run out of plates, are not providing cutlery and have no biscuits of crackers to eat with cheese has left me gobsmacked.
On top of all of this, it seemed that no staff had been instructed to clear tables, glasses and food from the area, let alone clean the toilets.
Friends of ours recommended this event as they attended last year where they paid less for the tickets and were given arranged seating and far better service.
Harrigans you are a disgrace, we will never return.
