Golf at Cypress Lakes in the morning followed by lunch at Esca - a day does not get much better. The restaurant is located on the top level of the cellar door and wine production area with a beautiful view from both inside and outside on the vast balcony. We opted for the tasting plates with the patching wines - the food is simply wonderful and wines are quite nice as well,If you are looking to impress someone special or simply have a great long lunch then Esca should be the top of your list

Service was so slow and un-anticipating, food was bland and we needed to season everyone of our degustation dishes- most of which were served cool or cold, and all this led to a very expensive and boring afternoon. This used to be one of the better hunter restaurants but is now on my 'no go' list.

This is a wonderful restaurant with a great selection of food chioces and wine from the upper end of the market. I can recommend the degustation menu for dinner. The outlook is wonderful and the service was impecable.

My husband and visited Esca for lunch and were really disappointed with the service. Food was nice, but took forever to get meals and trying to get a drink. We had a bottle of wine, but you could die of thirst waiting for them to top us your glass, and unfortunately the ice bucket was not located close to our table, so we were unable to just top our glasses up ourselves. Given all the lovely restaurants we have to choose from in the Hunter Valley, I wouldn't bother hurrying back here.

Visited for lunch with overseas guests and had the tasting plates for both main and desert with the inclusive wines. Excellent choice as the food was presented well, consisted of quality and complementary ingredients served by pleasant and professional wait staff. The rose scented crème brulee was like nothing I have tasted before. Great outlook and we lingered ......
