We were recommended to try Amanda's and were not disappointed. I had 2 entrees and my partner had a main and dessert. BYO wine as an option was handy and other wines and beer were also available. I had seared scallops and garlic prawns. Partner had steak. All meals were delicious and well presented. Nice ambience and service was good. Waitresses were very attentive. The bill came to just over $100. Parking very close and a beautiful view over the winery. Outside tables also a good option. I would recommend this as a great place to go.

Thank Kathy G

Most of the restaurants in the Hunter Valley close Mondays & Tuesdays so we were not expecting very much when we booked for Amanda's on the Edge. It was as well we booked because when we did find this pretty little cottage tucked away amongst the vines off the beaten track, it was full.
The staff were effieicent, attentive and friendly despite being run off their feet.
The wine list was adequate but the foot was delicious and very generous, the entre was a main in itself! No room for dessert unfortunately.
Will return definitely.

We were recommended Amanda's by our Guest House host & were not disappointed. The rack of lamb (we both eschewed entrees so we could share a dessert!) was deliciously pink & the light filo spinach & feta base a well matched compliment. The rare beef fillet was tender with fluffy mash & some crunchy green beans. We shared the baklava with banana & butterscotch ice cream. Again, tasty. Service was friendly & helpful & the wines worked well with the dishes. The only downside was that someone (a child we think) on the table behind us was celebrating a birthday as the phone kept ringing throughout the evening & she always answered it. In our view that's not evening dining etiquette!

We were in the Hunter Valley on one of the busiest weekends so far this year - it was the weekend of the Bruce Springsteen concert and restaurants were overflowing. Thankfully we had a reservation as the tables at Amanda's filled quickly on the night we were there. There is a lovely patio where you can dine outside overlooking fields of vines (his is particularly nice in summer) but we had a table indoor which was perfect.

We had visited some wineries that afternoon so we brought our own wine which our waitress happily served in lovely glassware - the restaurant is licenced so corkage is $5 per bottle (very reasonable). The menu is extensive, interesting and you can have trouble deciding what you will have because everything sounds wonderful (there is also a vegetarian menu which is inviting).

There were three of us and all of our meals were fantastic and although the breadrolls are a bit overpriced they are pretty wonderful. The mushroom entree' was delicious and the prawns were devine. Our main meals were beautifully presented and very satisfying. We found that there was no possiblity we could have desert despite the very tempting items on the blackboard menu.

We loved our eveing at Amanda's and I wish I lived in the Hunter so I could return!
