This restaurant certainly lived up to its reviews: it was a wonderful dining experience. It had exceptional views a lovely ambience with excellent service. However, what made the restaurant special was the superb meal we had. The trout was delectable and the pasta "to die for". We can also recommend the"crunchy green salad" which was as described "crunchy". And the "goddess dressing" was just yum! A bonus to the evening is that the restaurant is also BYO and for a Thursday night the restaurant was quite full.

We stopped into Amanda's as there wasn't a lot of restaurants opened for dinner at the time we were there. The service was great, the ambiance was excellent and the food was better than anything we had out at the Hunter Valley! Great dinning experience and will be back again!!

For a start, it was New Years Eve 2013 and Amanda's was one of only a few open for business. At least it made the choice simple.
We had an outdoor table, which we were lucky to get, and, although the evening played constantly with a little breeze, we didn't suffer (the attentive staff did offer blankets for our knees, but it wasn't necessary).
My wife's steak was cooked to perfection just the way she ordered it and my trout was superb. Desert, which we rarely have, was sensational.
Our meals arrived promptly and together. On the other hand, a decent interval was allowed before the desert menu was offered. Throughout the evening staff were attentive without being intrusive. They were obviously well trained with high standards demanded by management.
Amanda's On The Edge is a classy joint in the bush. It would be a classy joint in Sydney or Melbourne. Highly recommended and reservations would be a good idea.

This restaurant seems to attract a mostly young upscale clientele. Food choices are somewhat limited and a few items were no longer available by the time we sat for our 8pm reservation. Nonetheless, the food was enjoyable. The spatchcock was a standout as was the panna cotta dessert. Service was friendly.

Charmingly situated in the Hunter Valley, overlooking vineyards.Dog friendly balcony, but it was a cold day so we ate inside. Service was excellent& friendly. We only had a main course each & a warm bread roll to start. My salmon was superb, but my husbands duck was dry & stringy, we were offered a free desert to compensate, we shared a sticky date pudding, which was outstanding!
We will give this restaurant another go.
