My partner and I had dinner at The Cellar on the first night of our Hunter Valley trip. Despite a slightly rocky start (the martini had far too much vermouth and was a golden colour), the service was attentive and polite, and the food was amazing. We ordered off the grill menu (rib eye with peppercorn sauce for him, spatchcock with aioli for me) and added two sides (cauliflower cheese and roasted kipfler potatoes), and it was on par with dining in Sydney. The dessert, however, was the true masterpiece - strawberry and rose marshmallows with pistachio ice cream, saffron honey, barberries and Persian fairy floss. We will definitely be returning on our next trip to the Hunter Valley!
