Three of us went here after a verbal recommendation from another business, and we were very glad we came. The location was delightful, the serving staff were friendly. Two of the party had pulled pork burgers and they thought were great. Well all agreed my german feast was the best, the two different wursts, the fancy bacon, and the PORK CHOP. That PORK CHOP was so tender and the the flavour was something all three of us thought was outstanding, the portion sizes were generous.

We thoroughly enjoyed our morning tea at 2FB. Our shopping for other products yielded some nice finds as well with some excellent service assistance provided by one of the duo of well proportioned gentlemen. Their menu looked to have some fine choices and their website shows the excellent range of offerings they have. We recommend a visit to them and then step next door to the outstanding de Juliis Cellar door.

On our recent trip the Hunter we first visited the Two Fat blokes for a late lunch on a sunday. The day had obviously not gone well and the staff seemed run off their feet and the food service was slow. The good thing the food we had was delicious and the staff came and told us why the food an service was stretched.

We decided to visit again a few days later and the service was great and food was perfect. There is a lot to like about the place especially sitting outside on the bench tables with the sun on your back with some nice wine from De iuliis wines. There is also heaps of room for the kids to run around. The food is not over complicated and is cooked well. Can recommend the gnocchi, beef cheeks, and lamb shank.

We also visited their food store and picked up ingredients for a cheese platter and one dinner. The selection of cheeses, deli meats, and desserts were great.

I arrived at 3pm just missing the kitchen and that's ok. It was suggested I go to the deli and I did.
One had the feeling the staff were inconvenienced and impatience was in the atmosphere.
I quickly ordered the lamb pie....nice but barely warm. The flat white coffee was very nice.
I wandered back in to purchase some cheese. Once again an air of impatience.
I had to speak firmly to not rush me to choose a cheese.
I understand the days are long so close the doors at 3pm.or shorter shifts.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry you felt the way you did about our service. Since opening our deli in December 2013, we have not received a complaint about the service or the quality of produce we have on offer. Sometimes it is a fine line between being suggestive and wht is perceived to be trying to be pushy or making people feel rushed. On this occassion, maybe we got it wrong. We sell so many of the pies that it can be overlooked if we have topped up with new, fresh pies and they didn't have the time to get to the right temperature. If you would have brought it to our staff's attention at the time, i am sure they would have been able to warm it up for you in no time.

On our tour stop we preordered our meals then stopped at noon to eat. The ham and cheese sandwich was average. The sservice was slow where the wines were not served with the meals and other drinks (tea, soft drinks) were served after the meals were half eaten. Typically you get the drinks first then food so not sure why the food arrived first without drinks. Anyway, the menu and the rest of the food I saw looked good and fresh so maybe best to order off the menu. The chips looked delicious. This is located next to the De iuliis Winery Cellar Door so you can have a meal and tasting at one place.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We take all complaints seriously and try and learn from them to see where we have gone wrong. I make no excuse for the quality of our 'sandwich'. We prefer to call it a baguette, since it is a home baked roll. The ham used is a premium black forest ham we get from a local German butcher. We have clients that come in especially to buy it, since it is so good. The cheese we use is a locally produced vintage cheddar and all other ingredients are fresh and of top quality. Since your group pre-order the food it is ready when you arrive. We do still need to take your drink order and yes that takes a little time to organise. I am glad you saw the other food that was served looked appetising and yes, the chips are delicious.
Because tour groups are on a tight time schedule we need to do the service quickly. i am sorry you found you did not received value for your $10 option, which includes your baguette, a soft drink and a vanilla pannacotta. All presented attractively and served to you at your table in nice comfortable surrounds. I believe it represents excellent value for money.
