“Perfect Hunter Valley Getaway”

We loved it here, the cottages are delightful, as was the property manager. We wanted a romantic getaway and it was just perfect. They have a little dam and canoes, which were a bit of fun. They are cloes to all the vineyards, and althought there are a number of cottages on site we did not feel there were every many people around at all, so quiet. I would highly recommend the place.

We have just returned from a two night stay at Brokenview Estate. The cottages are perfect for a romatic getaway. They are well equiped and modern. The decor is lovely and the scenery is spectacular. The fridge was well stocked with every thing we needed for breakfast plus a complimentry bottle of wine. The on-site manager was really helpful. I would highly recommend this accommodation. We went in the middle of winter but the cottages were really warm and cosy with an open fire, underfloor heating in the bathroom plus central heatiing. We will definately stay here again.

We stayed here over the Easter holiday weekend for two nights in cottage No. 4. We had a great time. The cottages are located on a dirt road in the middle of the Hunter Wine region. There are six yellow cottages around a little pond that is full of ducks. Behind our cottage, the owner of the property had a little vineyard. Our cottage had a lovely open wood fire. two tvs with satelitte and dvd player (they also have a few dvds that you can watch). Nice kitchen with pots pans, stove, microwave and electric stove. They put eggs, bacon, bread and jams in the fridge. Since it was Easter, they gave us a chocolate Easter bunny, which i thought was a great touch! There is a gas bbq in the back. In the bedroom there is a large spa bath for two persons. The bed and the bed linen are very comfy.

PROs:
good location, close to all the wineries. Restaurants are only a few minutes away by car. Great kitchen-we cooked breakfast every morning and one dinner. Nice spa bath. Loved the wood fire place

Cons; when you turn the hot water on in the bath for the first time there is a bit of a sulfur smell. This went away after a minute or two. When you drive into the property, there is a narrow wooden bridge over a small pond. This can be tricky to drive over at night, since it's narrow and you don't want to scratch your car.

We thought the price was a little expensive, but the price was on average for a nice one bedroom cottage in the hunter valley during the peak season. i would definately stay here again!

We stayed at Broken View Estate for along weekend. It is a beautiful place.
There are 5 cottages. We stayed in cottage 1. I think they are all fairly similar. You get a living room, a full kitchen with oven, hib, fridge etc, a beautful bathroom and a big bedroom with a corner spa bath. there is also a private outdoor eating area with table and chairs and a BBQ (each cabin has its own)
At the back of the cottage there is also a veranda, with another table and chair set overlooking a little dam which is abundant with wildlife (wait to hear it come alive at dawn and dusk - quite and amazing symphony!) .
the cottages are very clean and bright and modern and I think only a few years old.
Great views out to the BrokenBack Range mountains - we were treated to an evening electrical storm which was spectacular.
The breakfast hampers are fantastic and have everything you could want plus more. I doubt anyone woul be able to eat the lot!
The hosts are fantastic ans welcoming when you arrive and leave you to privacy the rest of the time - perfect.
I cant wait until I have an opportunity to go back t the hunter valley and I will definetly stay here.
