on my recent trip to the hunter valley myself and my partner had nothing booked for dinner on the saturday night so we thought we would play it by ear and ask the local wineries were we should eat and 2 of the of them suggested Twine. we didnt book and we turn up with a friendly waitress, the restaurant is in an amazing location, we watched the sunset whilst eating our entres. the chef even came out halfway through our dinner to ask how we were enjoying our night and gave us a completementy frozen sangria. highly recommended! definetely will be returning for another meal!

In October we came for Fireside Sunday and what an evening it was! We were sitting outside with nice views over the vineyards. Delicious meals served under the sunset accompanied by live music was just sensational. Staff was very pleasant, food awesome and surrounds superb. We came again this month for Indian theme and we were not disappointed. As before, all perfect. We are looking forward to next evening by fireside.

Wow Monika, what a great experience…. From the moment we landed to the moment we left we were treated exceptionally well. We all thoroughly enjoyed our night with all of your professional cheery staff. The food was out of this world. I’m lost for words (and that never happens to me….). The table looked beautiful. Wine was regularly topped up which helped the night flow wonderfully. (compared to other functions, usually there is a lot of waste of wine because topping up doesn’t happen the way your staff did, this was greatly appreciated)

Everyone is talking about a return visit in their own time.

Great team Matt. Thanks for your wonderful hospitality and great food. Cheers

We had a group Christmas party of 23. Table was set appropriately.

Booked in for 8.15pm and when we got there they asked us to take a seat while they sorted us out which was fine but it took until 8.45 when we got taken to our table. Our food took a while, the fillet steak was relatively nice although the tortilla stack with it was raw and the crispy skinned pork belly was not remotely crispy and difficult to eat. We had ordered a side of mash which never arrived. We ordered a hunter valley merlot because we were in the area but we actually were givena barrossa merlot of a different year and didn't realise until later. When I told staff about this and the mash they simply took the mash off the bill but no apology and no word was said about the wine. Dessert was lovely, we had the bread and butter pudding. Overall disappointing as we had heard good things and felt let down by the restaurant.

We visited Twine for dinner last friday and being massive fans of Matt Dillow's other restaurant, Verandah, we had high expectations. The food was excellent, it was a similar modern Australian fare as with Verandah and the desserts were to die for. Do yourself a favour and order the chocolate torte - it's a dark chocolate citrusy delight. YUM! The staff were also really friendly and the service was great. They were happy to have us sit around after our meal and enjoy our wines. All in all, it was a great experience, highly recommend.
