If you are in the Hunter Valley, do not miss the main Peterson's Winery at Mount View. So head off from their champagne house or their Cuvee Restaurant and head for the hills. The short drive is worth the trip as the countryside is so beautiful and their vines are stretched across low lying hills like 18th century regiments drawn up for battle. The cellar door offers tastings with informed, helpful, friendly staff. And then pop outside and soak in the view. We were introduced to this by Mr Ian Peterson himself in 1988, an enthusiast and a gentleman and scientist and a great winemaker. The winery is on Mount View Road.
