“Great place to stay great location”

We have stay once and it was so good we went back for a second time. Rooms are clean, staff are friendly and helpful. The Blue Tongue cafe was awesome there is so much to do on the resort. We tried the restaurant across the road and it was crap so next time we will try the restaurant in the resort. Can't wait to go back again.

Room Tip: Spa Cottages are great

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a Hunter Valley getaway which includes wine tours, etc. Lovely accommodation, comfortable beds and friendly staff. Facilities are clean. Not a bad place to stay, just don't eat at the restaurant it's awful! The restaurant across the street is my much better.

We stayed here one night as part of our trip. We asked if the restaurant was child friendly and was told definitely. It's trying to be a fine dining experience and wasn't the place for kids - only the kind that sit quietly for hours. The dining experience overall was terrible though. I will say the kids nuggets were the highlight - our meals were far from enjoyable. We were going to say something but the poor waitress (who wasn't much chop) copped an earful about the food from the table next to us so in sympathy for her we just paid and left. The room is very dated but comfortable. For location A1

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hunter Resort. The Spa Cottage was very cute and very clean with everything we needed. It is great there are so many activities to chose from on the resort from tennis, to horseriding, walking and wine tasting. The beer in the Bluetougue cafe was outstanding and we had a nice dinner in the restaurant. The wine school provided us with an excellent education about the local wines
I will be back!

Room Tip: we loved the cottage, you get a sense of isolation and it is surrounded by horse paddocks and vineya...

Stayed at the Hunter Resort for our 8 year anniversary.

Had a mix up on with the web bookin on their site but the staff were able to offer us a great room at a decent rate plus throw in some lovely extras.

With most hotels we usually try and venture out and really just use the place as a bed but Hunter resort has it all and we found ourselves spending a great deal of time there.

If you get a chance do the wine school. It was really informative and our host was amazing! Really nice guy and knows alot about wine.

The only thing that was slightly lacking was the buffet breakfast. My girlfriend is vegetarian and the breakfast really didn't cater for this. The food had been sitting in the warmers for a while, as it does with a buffet and probably wasn't as tasty as if it was freshly cooked.

Overall a great getaway. Some lovely views from our cabin and really friendly and helpful staff. Will be staying here again. Soon actually. Great place.

We booked a king / luxury room at a special rate of $160 per night. The setting is very pretty (typical Hunter Valley views). The room was nicely decorated if fairly rustic which again is probably typical of the area.

Breakfast was OK nothing special. The restaurant is a fair walk away, depending on which room you are staying in. At $14 for the continental and $18 for hot breakfast you'd probably get better somewhere else.

Couple of tips - for some reason they only put the bath towels out in the bathroom, the hand towels and facewashers are in a drawer in the vanity (and no we didn't think to look there). Also be warned, the walls are very very thin, you can hear every noise from the rooms next door, so I would definitely not recommend this for a romantic weekend away (unless you are OK with an audience).

Overall it was OK for 1 night but if I was staying longer would probably look for somewhere else.
