“Ask for Naomi as she knows her wines and will make your tasting experience one to remember!”
Reviewed July 10, 2012

This tasting is better to do on your, if you do it with Hunter Valley Wine Tasting Tours, you will get a private tasting in a room with hopefully Naomi. It was brilliant. We went there first day as general public, it was ok but second day we went on tour and WOW million times better!!!!

“Helpful staff, excellent merlot.”
Reviewed June 4, 2012

Great wines despite the large, impersonal feel of the place. Lots of tour groups when we arrived so it was rather hectic. But the merlot is excellent and my husband can't stop talking about it! The cheese shop next door is not good. The 'cheese tour' was hosted by an extremely disinterested lady and was only 4minutes long. There are better cheese shops In the hunter valley.

“You don't have to know much about wine.”
Reviewed May 27, 2012 via mobile

After visiting some wineries and made to feel a bit inferior as I didn't know too much about wine, Mcguigans staff were the exact opposite. On explaining my lack of knowledge they took us through several wines and listened to our opinions before trying something else. We didn't need words like oaky etc and they knew exactly what we liked. We left with some very nice wines. The produce store was just as helpful even encouraging people who weren't buying to try different cheeses. It was an informative, unpretentious, relaxed visit and I will go back again.

“Good visit but could be improved”
Reviewed April 8, 2012

Don t get me wrong - the place does wine tasting very well, it's top quality and it's very fairly priced. I just felt a bit like we were pushed in like cattle, grazing around then shuffled to the counter. The cheese and savory shop is crammed into a small space and overpriced.

That said - the wine is why you go and it does not disappoint.
