What a great winery! You must stop here!
Recently renovated, it is probably the most attractive entrances I have seen in the Hunter for a cellar door. It has the most magnificent display of all the bottles of wine and a wonderful sneak peak into the wine making process through a huge glass window. But the real show stopper is the actual wine!
I had the chance to speak with the winemaker himself and what a story he has! The way he makes the wine is not only for an original taste with snippets of his extensive knowledge from the Napa and interest in french oak, its also considerate to ingredients - taking out as much sugars, sulfa etc to be curious to the body.
My top pick to me tasted (and bought) are;
- the reserve Chardonnay
- the single vineyard Shiraz
- the single vineyard Chardonnay
- the cider
- Elle Champagne
oh and you must ask to see "the eggs" - fascinating if you are interested in the wine making process!
