Owner description: The Wilkinson's were true pioneers of the Australian winemaking industry. Despite two earlier ventures in Australia, the Wilkinson family returned after the brothers Frederick and John had studied winemaking in France and Germany. In 1866 the family acquired the present site of the Audrey Wilkinson vineyard. Living in tents, they cleared the land and planted vines which were sourced from the MacArthur Onslow property. By the early 1900s, Audrey Wilkinson collected awards around Australia for his Hock, claret and fortified wines. Large quantities were exported to London. Audrey committed to leading edge technology which, at the end of the 19th century, included open cement fermenters and steam powered crushers and hoppers. It was here the Audrey Wilkinson legacy was born.

I cannot fault Audry Wilkinson's wine or location, both are absolutely amazing.

I as so impressed that I joined their wine club and the customer service that I received was appalling. It took over 1 month for my wine to be delivered and what I received was not what was originally paid for. It again took another month to get some form of explanation from the customer service team.
Beware of the wineclub, I would only recommend purchasing from the cellar door.

We enjoyed our visit here. Ross was great - very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines, which we enjoyed. Really spectacular views when standing outside the winery - so I am very surprised they have not got a restaurant overlooking the view...

What a brillian wine tasting experience at Audrey Wilkinson Vineyard. The views are breathtaking. You can't go to Hunter Valley without going to this vineyard. The wines are lovely. They're not stingey with their tasting samples. Staff are friendly and very knowledgeable.

This has to rate as one of the best situated Cellar Doors any vineyard could want, with marvellous views in every direction. This was the second time we have visited Audrey Wilkiinson and their wines continue to be some of the finest. The staff are extremely helpful and knowledgable, and the tasted wines were all of a very high standard. A very impressive place.

Took friends here mainly for the view but ended up buying 3 cases of wine thanks to Ross and his knowledge and expertise of wine. Very kindly put it all in our car for us too. Wonderful wine tasting experience.
