Owner description: Unique, private luxury full or 1/2 day tours. 2- 10 guests only. By limiting our tours to max 10 guests we have access to small family-owned wineries that have excellent wines but do not take bigger groups. Pickup from Hunter Valley only in luxury Mercedes Benz vehicles. My wife's ancestors planted some of the first vines in the Hunter Valley in 1853 and just never left. We have looked after visitors to our region since 1998. In 2008 we added some tours to our business to the delight of many guests. We offer 2 different full day tours, our very popular 'Progressive winemakers Lunch tour' and 2 half day tour to choose from. Or we can tailor a tour to suit your needs. Our aim is to show our guests great food, great wine and have loads of fun. Educational, yet light-hearted. Our tours are unique, over time, we have build up trust with local chefs and (boutique) winemakers, who all offer a personalised experience. Because we only have a small number of guests on our tours we can be flexible and tailor our tours to suit you. We can also assist with your accommodation needs if needed.

“Awesome Day!”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

As part of a group of seven we joined four others on an all day tour. Our tour guide Nathan was charismatic and fun right from the get go. He had fantastic rapport with all the places we visited and he had outstanding knowledge of the region. Lunch was beautiful and the view magnificent. Each winery, cheese shop, brewery or chocolate shop were ready to receive us when we arrived and were of a very high quality. Upon Nathan's recommendation we visited various places the following day as the Hunter has so very much to offer. We will be back! We thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone. Fun, comfortable and value for money.

“Awesome day, great host.”
Reviewed May 3, 2013 via mobile

There was a group of 7 visiting the Hunter for the first time celebrating a couple of birthdays. Our host was Nathan who made our day so much fun. His knowledge of the area was fantastic and wineries, cheese factory and chocolate matching place were fantastic.

We requested a special winery and they happily organized this for us. Lunch was great at the winery with fresh local produce whilst taking in the view of the area.

Great day. Thanks Nathan and the 2 fat blokes.

“Amazing Experience and great fun day!”
Reviewed May 3, 2013

Recently enjoyed a last minute booking of the progressive lunch and tasting tour with 2 fat blokes and was blown away by the day! With only 6 or 7 on the bus it was a great size to get to know throughout the day. The bus was new, clean and very comfortable. The tour started off with a glass of bubbly and we headed to the first winery. I think we had 5 stops (by the end of the day its hard to remember!!). At each venue there was a table set for our group and a great tasting plate to go with the wines on offer. Our driver (the owner I think) was really informative, fun and very friendly. He gave us some background information on the area and the properties we visited, along with very personalised service - we felt we were in great hands!

THe only small thing about the day was I wasn't all that impressed with Twine restaurant - the food was very bland and average - but the wines were good from Wynwood and the view lovely - the group were having so much fun chatting and getting to know each other that the food was a minor thing at the time- but looking back, I certainly wouldn't return to Twine to eat in the restaurant again. But, I most certainly would go on another tour with 2 fat blokes - may try one of their other tours next time! Lots of fun

“Brilliant!”
Reviewed April 28, 2013

We booked the Hunter Gatherer full day tour directly with TFB way back in October last year and then did all the confirmation of pick up times and wotnot a few days beforehand. All straightforward and hitch free. It goes without saying that a wine tour in the Hunter should be good fun but our guide, Nathan, made it a brilliant experience. Knowledgeable about the area and the wine but also with a great sense of humour and lots of emphasis on the personal touches (lunch at Petersons was simple but lovely and very well executed). The wineries themselves were well chosen and we got to try a good range of wines. My husband was very pleased to discover a brewery tour was also included and I was a big fan of the chocolate and wine matching session (not to mention the chilli sauce that was also on offer - although that completely wrecked my palette lol!).
Nathan, thank you for a great day (and Jan, thank you for making the booking process so easy - sorry we missed you). We'll be recommending you!

“Perfect for a whistle-stop visitor”
Reviewed April 28, 2013

Very highly recommended. On the half-day tour we experienced three different smaller wineries and had extensive, entertaining and informative tastings at all three. I can’t imagine how you’d still be upright after the full day tour! The small group is more friendly, gives flexibility to take detours (thanks to Jan for stopping to let us take kangaroo pictures!) and makes the whole tasting more personal.
