Owner description: Unique, private luxury full or 1/2 day tours. 2- 10 guests only. By limiting our tours to max 10 guests we have access to small family-owned wineries that have excellent wines but do not take bigger groups. Pickup from Hunter Valley only in luxury Mercedes Benz vehicles. My wife's ancestors planted some of the first vines in the Hunter Valley in 1853 and just never left. We have looked after visitors to our region since 1998. In 2008 we added some tours to our business to the delight of many guests. We offer 2 different full day tours, our very popular 'Progressive winemakers Lunch tour' and 2 half day tour to choose from. Or we can tailor a tour to suit your needs. Our aim is to show our guests great food, great wine and have loads of fun. Educational, yet light-hearted. Our tours are unique, over time, we have build up trust with local chefs and (boutique) winemakers, who all offer a personalised experience. Because we only have a small number of guests on our tours we can be flexible and tailor our tours to suit you. We can also assist with your accommodation needs if needed.
Useful Information: Stairs / elevator, Bathroom facilities, Wheelchair access

My partner and I chose the Hunter as the location for a mini mid-week getaway. Being lovers of food we sought out a tour that would focus on great food and also introduce us to the wines of the region. The Two Fat Blokes tour gave us just that. We chose to go on their "Progressive Wine Makers Tour", which began with Jan picking us up from our accommodation in his stylish 4WD. With a glass of sparkling wine in hand, Jan told us about the region, and being novices when it comes to wine, gave us a run-down of what the Hunter is renown for. We visited 4 wineries where we were presented with beautiful food and matching wines. First was Adina, where dined at The Olive Mill Cafe- unforgertable for me was how the Pinot Grigio paired so nicely with the scallop and cucumber entree. Next was Cuvee at Petersons Champagne House, where we had entrees of delicious pork belly and soft shell crab. To follow that was Muse, where the options were a beautifully glazed pork belly and a very succulent chicken breast. Last but not least was dessert at Esca Bimbadgen, which was made sweeter by the beautiful view of the estate encompassing the whole restaurant. Jan was also nice enough to take us to the Smelly Cheese Shop and show us the amazing view atop Audrey Wilkinson Vineyard. All in all it was a great tour and definitely a highlight of our visit to the Hunter.

Thanks Two Fat Blokes!

Regards,
Lia and Jason

I enjoyed this Tour with my girlfriend, we were picked up @ 10.45am by Jan, a professional gentleman, with a wealth of knowledge of the region, and a passion for fresh food, local vino and beautiful settings. Our day began with a glass of local sparkling vino, then followed with an indulgence of flavours, as our senses took on mouth watering delights. We enjoyed a course from each menu, from 4 amazing vineyard restaurants. A valuable, memorable and decadent way to experience the Hunter Valley. Each course was accompanied with a wine to match, not just a taste mind you, a full glass, wonderful.
My best description would be a "Long leisurely Lunch with friends on a sunny Sunday afternoon"!

There were 4 of us on this tour (2 couples) and it was a wonderful day out. Pete (the other fat bloke) picked us up and took us straight to Peterson Champagne House for a bubbles breakfast complete with delicious pancakes and gorgeous views. On a busy Saturday morning we were treated to a private tasting area on one of the outdoor decks. Afterwards we moved on to another winery where we were shown how all the wine is made and bottled. We opted for a light lunch at Esca (Bimbadgen Estate) and this place was wonderful. We will definitely be going back to try out more from the menu. The afternoon continued with more wine tasting, some fun "blending" wine and a stop off at the cheese shop. Besides a well planned and well paced day our guide was knowledgeable and very passionate about both food and wine. Thanks very much for a great day out Pete - the day would not have been as enjoyable without you!!!

My boyfriend and I had so much fun on this tour! Our morning started with pancakes and sparkling wine which was delicious and we were treated to our own private tasting area which was great on a busy weekend. We then continued on to a lovely vineyard and were given a private tour around it seeing how the grapes are picked, processed and stored (damn hard work!)

Lunch was absolutely brilliant. We went with the 3 course lunch and were not disappointed, the restaurant that Jan selected was top class and the wine selection to go with the food was superb.

Jan was a great guide and had lots of great stories about the Hunter. He was very laid back and made the whole tour a really enjoyable experience.

If you love food and wine you will not be disappointed with this tour.
