The food was beautiful and the waitstaff were attentive and professional. Couldn't fault this restaurant at all.

“Lovely food and casual atmosphere, sadly overpriced”
Reviewed January 8, 2013 via mobile

Went out for a local weekend lunch and came across this place. I had heard good things so we decided to drive on in. The verandah restaurant has a gorgeous boutique country feel about it. The wrap around verandah, timber stairwell, and beautiful maintained grounds and pond, complete with ducks. My partner and I, as suggested by staff, ordered 6 tapas dishes. The food is lovely, and dishes were timed very well. They have lots of wines available by the glass, particularly good for the designated driver. The downsides to this are that you risk your wine tasting a little off, unfortunately what i experienced. all in all, the restaurant's service style, paired with the quality of food and portions, do not warrant the prices charged. After three glasses of wine and a pot of tea our lunch came to $150. Had we have received seven courses for this, or truly sensational food I would have no gripes. Hunter valley first timer and don't care all too much about the price? sure, head in for yummy food and casual, relaxed atmosphere. Bit of a diner, and a regular restaurant rec? Keep on driving, and realise there are better kept secrets along the roads less travelled in the HV wine region.

“Sensationally good”

Arriving in the Hunter Valley after a long drive in urgent need of refreshment. This turned out to be the perfect choice. Brilliant tapas menu, superb service, great wine list. A perfect, sophisticated, savourous lunch amidst the vines.

“tapas amongst the vines”
Reviewed December 23, 2012

4 of us had 5 tapas and a bottle of the estate's white. Lovely evening and weather. Food is like a bigger portion mutation of solid australian food from its spanish roots. It is not quiet fine dinning as such but not far from it.
