Some reports are less than encouraging but we found it a great place to stay. The location is great and central to the various wineries. The room was large with a lounge room, the kitchen was in what I would call the hallway and then a bedroom with a bathroom between the bedroom and the lounge room. There are outdoor settings for meals if the weather allows. It comes with an inviting swimming pool for summer use. The grounds were large with nice views. There is also a common BBQ to use and the price was reasonable. Where else in Hunter can you get all of this for the money???? Don't expect of much but just enjoy it ... We did! We plan to return on many occasions.

Room Tip: Your choice, either upstairs or downstairs ... Both have advantages.

Stayed at Villa Provence on a 2 night coupon voucher through Cudo. Had only read the other reviews just before our stay so decided to keep an open mind. Set in a lovely location but unfortunately have to agree with a lot of the issues that the other reviewers have written. The place has so much potential but it is run down and needs major maintenance. We could hear the occupants in other rooms and their snoring and toilet activities at night quite clearly. Didn't make for a very peaceful stay. Things were covered in a light sheen of dust in the kitchenette and some of the lighting didn't work. Also feel that for hygiene purposes, beds should always have mattress protectors and there should never be visible stains on sheets or quilts etc.

The villa is set down a long driveway way off the street within easy location of Hunter region. There is a beautiful outlook of country and vineyards. It does have a certain charm to it, the grounds are clean and tidy but with a little bit of maintenance it would be grand. The hens came up to say hello each morning which was cute. It’s not luxurious but found it to be okay. It was comfortable, cosy and clean with basic amenities coffee, tea, microwave, fridge and a BBQ area for cooking. We received chocolate and wine on arrival and fresh milk was a nice touch. If you are not after luxurious and get a great rate I would recommend it.

I have no idea why anyone has complained about this place. It has everything you need and is central to everything . We had a chook come and visit us every day and she was beautiful ! (the sheep were gorgeous too) Easy check in and out , we had a complimentary bottle of wine and chocolates on arrival and all of this on a VERY reasonable Cudo voucher! Have also just received an even better deal from the owners for a return visit! Will definitely be back!

We enjoyed our two nights here with a prepurchased voucher. I would agree with previous reviewers that a small table with two chairs inside would be great as well some simple cooking facilities. Not everyone wants to go down to a BBQ and Cook breakfast in the morning in their PJ's. The carpet in our unit was quite stained and the plumbing noisy but the location was lovely and quiet while being handy to wineries and restaurants. When we did use the outside table and chairs on the balcony we had to clean them beforehand as there was a thick layer of dust on them. Despite all this the pluses outweighed the minuses.

Room Tip: Ask for a downstairs room otherwise you have to haul your bags up a narrow staircase.

I, like the reviewers before me, stayed at Villa Provence on a mid week voucher deal. The property is pleasantly located with lovely views. We were pleasantly greeted on our arrival and the reception desk had our name and unit allocation on it. Keys were on the bed once we went inside our room. You are provided with a toaster and microwave and cutlery and plates. However, if you wanted to cook a breakfast in the kitchenette you would be out of luck ( see prior comments). Not even washing detergent to clean up. Tried the BBQ after buying steaks, yep NO GAS and it needed cleaning regardless.
This could be a lovely property if a bit of maintenance was carried out and
a few simple appliances provided. Chocolates and a bottle of wine were provided on arrival which was a pleasant surprise. Villa Provence is in an excellent location near Hunter Valley Gardens and restaurants.

Stayed here for 2 mid-week nights on a coupon deal which made it quite good value for money. The villa is a bit isolated but still only about 5 minutes drive to the reasonably priced eateries nearby. Rooms were clean and comfortable with champagne and chocolates to greet us on arrival. While the main lounge room is quite large it could do with a small table and 2 chairs ($149 from Freedom Furniture) to make any breakfast or dining experience a bit more comfortable. A huge coffee table is provided but not the best for eating from. A small kitchen has a toaster and microwave but no facility to prepare a cooked breakfast such as bacon and eggs. An electric frypan ($49 from KMart) would have been quite useful.

Apart from that it was a very pleasant and peaceful stay and I would recommend that the ground floor rooms should be requested when making a booking.
