“Quiet and Private”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2012

Great location and perfect for a relaxing few days. We stayed in the first of 3 two bedroom cottages. Nice and warm with the reverse cycle air conditioner running. We did light the fire the first evening which added to the cosy atmosphere but the supply of firewood was not replenished the next day and we only had very large pieces left which you can't start a fire with. Lounge, dining area and kitchen were fine. But it needed more than 2 wine glasses in the cupboard - it is located in wine country after all. The bathroom was clean but not spotless. A few cracked tiles around the spa bath. The queen size bed takes up most of the bedroom. It's time the mattress was replaced. It sags quite badly. Lovely new fluffy towels and good white linen on the beds. Decor is starting to date a little but is ok. No views from the cottage. Just a short stroll to Amanda's On The Edge Restaurant.

2 bedroom cottage, self contained kitchen, had a nice breakfast, and complimentary wine. Beautiful fireplace, spa bath and shower.
Had a nice dinner at Amanda's on the edge just a minute walk. Probably a little expensive for what you get-
Absolutely loved the stay! Instantly felt like I could take over and live here!!! Cutest cottage!!!!

We stayed in one of the cottages on the Windsors Edge vineyard for 2 nights. The cottage was a decent size and well-equipped. On arrival we received a bottle of wine from the vineyard and a cheese platter. Whilst breakfast is included it is just the basics (milk, beverages, juice and cereal). The cottage had a jacuzzi bath which was a bonus after a long day of winetasting! There is a small porch area outside the backdoor and a gas barbeque is provided - we made use of this and it was lovely sitting outside in the evening. The reason why I haven't scored this accommodation higher is that the decor is rather dated and the cottage in need of a bit of a facelift (so to speak). Also it was not as clean as it should have been. We understand that it is now under new ownership so may well have become a bit run down which was a shame as it is in a lovely setting.

We stayed at the Homestead with friends on our last trip to the Hunter. The accommodation is great....large rooms with plenty of space for everyone. The location is close to wineries and we would certainly recommend Windsors Edge for a group of friends.

A beautiful place to stay! Our cottage was very roomy and even nicer than pictures on the website. We found the beds to be very comfy (and we have a pillow top at home). We went away with another couple, and we were all thrilled with the location (set amongst some of the Hunters finest vineyards). We loved the cheese platter and port on arrival!
Tim and Jessie Windsor were very welcoming and attentive, and had even organised a bus pick up at the door for the fabulous Opera in the Vineyards concert.
Sunday was lunch at Amanda's and a comprehensive wine tasting of the Windsor's wine. The food and view over the vines was sensational and capped off a fabulous long weekend! I highly recommend the Cabernet Sauvignon and the desert wine- yum!
Can't wait to go back!
Thanks again Tim and Jessie

These cottages are in a lovely secluded part of the property and also within a short work to a beautiful restaurant.

I have stayed at the Windsor's Edge Cottages a couple of times now over the last few years and will have no hesitation in booking there again on my next trip to the Hunter. From the cheese plate & port waiting for us on arrival to the wonderfully comfortable beds, we could not have asked for more. My 1st stay was for a concert & the 2nd for a golf trip so the close proximinity to Bimbadgen Estate & The Vintage respectively made the location perfect for us. Our hosts, Tim & Jessie, are very welcoming and make everything easy from the initial enquiry to check out.
I have, & will continue, to recommend Windsor's Edge to family & friends who are headed to the Hunter.
