“Lots of interesting shops and cafes”
Reviewed September 2, 2013

If you are in the Hunter region then it is well worth while visiting the Hunter Valley Gardens.
The name is a bit of a misnomer as the complex consists of a large variety of interesting little shops selling a wide range of goods from trinkets to household wares. There's a chocolate shop (one of the favourites) and plenty of interesting places to eat. It is easy to find and quite central amongst the wineries.

“Beautiful and relaxing spot”
Reviewed August 31, 2013

This was my first visit and I didn't know what to expect. It is not easy to comprehend the vast garden space until you actually take a walk through the various garden themes. There are various gardens to explore, the Indian mosaic garden, Sunken garden, formal garden, Chinese garden to name a few.

As we entered, we were greeted by a band playing on a platform / stage. The stage setting is lovely with branches covering the "roof". There were not many people on my visit and it was really relaxing to take a walk around the gardens. It was great to see the names of the plants and flowers clearly marked out.

You need to set aside a couple of hours to walk through the gardens, sit down and take in the views. It was really tranquil walking round looking at the trees and flowers and the well manicured lawns.

There was a wedding when I went today and the spot with a rotunda was the perfect setting for the newly wed couple and their guests.

Don't forget to check out the garden store - it has a lot of interesting and lovely gifts.

“The Gardens”

Always a beautiful place to visit, it is a wonderful place to share with family and friends. Our grandson could run around the story book garden and loved the water features of the other gardens.

“Amazing Australia's largest display gardens”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

My family and I going to hunter valley garden on august 10. This is one of the beauty garden I ever seen. Creator by Bill Roche and Imelda, this is a large area garden you can explore , and they have 10 theme about their garden. Rose garden, Formal garden, Indian Mosaic garden, Chinese Moongate Garden, Sunken garden, Border garden, Storybook garden , Italian Grotto, Oriental Garden and The Lakes walk. The view was really amazing. You can feel the beauty of nature there. For old parent I advised to take train to explore the garden, so they no need to walk far away. If you go to hunter valley don't miss this place.
