Great day out !! We have been a few times. Kids love it and its always busy! Some animals are hard to find but always an enjoyable experience! There is no admission price but you have to pay for parking !
They have BBQs and a brand new kids playground also

Great animal exhibitions, well maintained round and the new play area is fantastic. The ranger program they have is terrific for kids. They can get up close and personal with many of the animals. Well done NCC

A green oasis in the suburbs of Newcastle. We had a picnic under the shade of a huge tree. Just a lovely afternoon with deep blue sky, green grass, perfect temperature.

The Blackbutt Reserve is very beautiful, has plenty of wildlife for you to see. But don't think you have seen it all with just that as there are some great walks threw the reserve, places to have picnics etc and some have covered areas as well. Weekends also brings some small markets to the reserve with a different type of wares to sell. Nightime around dusk you will see the flights of hundreds of bats as well. During the holidays the park holds night time tours and also has a junior rangers club for the kids.. have to say that it is a very worthwhile place to visit and keep going back to.
