“A beautiful reserve”
Reviewed January 17, 2013

The Blackbutt Reserve is very beautiful, has plenty of wildlife for you to see. But don't think you have seen it all with just that as there are some great walks threw the reserve, places to have picnics etc and some have covered areas as well. Weekends also brings some small markets to the reserve with a different type of wares to sell. Nightime around dusk you will see the flights of hundreds of bats as well. During the holidays the park holds night time tours and also has a junior rangers club for the kids.. have to say that it is a very worthwhile place to visit and keep going back to.

“Great place to go for the day.”
Reviewed January 12, 2013

Blackbutt reserve is a great place to go for a day out. Entry (parking)is $2.00 and there are walks,a play and BBQ area, pond and animals. I'd recommend the Koala feeding also where you have the opportunity to interact with the Koalas and have your photo with them for about $5.00. You can take your own photo so you don't have to get ripped off by "professional photographers""

This is a really good place to visit with the family, you can take a picnic lunch and have it at the grounds. Lovely day out, just not in summer!

“A must see in Newcastle”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

A great family day out, picnic areas with BBQ's, loads of room to play and explore and ample parking. The staff are dedicated to educated the public about the animals and the Koala sanctuary is just great where you can have an encounter with a koala daily from around 2pm where you can take a photo and have a pat with one which is great.
You can come here over and over and its still a great day out.
