This would appear to be THE place of East Newcastle, with an uninterrupted view of the sea (and any passing whales). I've only had breakfast there and the service is top class, with not much seating room but a brisk turnover and generally friendly air. It is (so I am told) a coffee heaven, though my own hot drink choices were a tea, chai and a double bitter chocolate with the texture of sump oil – but certainly not the taste! All were excellent. Estabar is your friendly home or office when anywhere near the beach.
I'd have liked a tiny bit more choice of protein dishes on the hearty and imaginative breakfast items, besides scrambled eggs, with or without salmon. But if you only go there occasionally to eat up big this isn't going to bother you, and their hazelnut and parsley pesto (this comes with the eggs) is out of this world.
