Fantastic food yet again but really disappointing that they have moved the Sunday afternoon live music to a Friday night. We love the food so much that we will go back but would also love the live music back on a Sunday as well

One word to some up this venue is amazing! Fantastic food paired with the best variety of Craft Beer in Newcastle. One thing that really stood out to me was how well balanced the beer selection is, there is always something for everyone. We were luck enough to experience there July beer dinner and recommend them highly as they have one every month, everything matched really well and the food quality was the best I've had! Check this place out!

Maybe its just me but every time I've been to the hop factory there seems to be a lack of variety in the beers available. Unless you love your hoppy ales there isn't much here for you. Maybe a few more lagers/easier session beers would be an option?

I went to the Hop Factory for lunch today with an old mate. A very relaxed atmosphere, friendly, welcoming and cheerful staff. The food was well priced -we had $10 lunch special-- mainly burger type meals, but a wide variety. The spicy beef burger with chips was very tasty. An excellent range of beers on tap. We had 4 small glasses each- a good way to go- of German and American craft beers on tap, but there were 16 Australian craft beers on tap in the back bar. Matt, the owner, is very knowledgeable and passionate about beers, and apparently has "beergustation" nights, where craft beers are matched with appropriate food. On weekends it gets very packed, but for a quiet Thursday lunch with a good mate it was a perfect choice. a great addition to the Darby Street eat scene.

They've a really good range of beers on offer here, with plenty of local and international craft beer on tap. The bar area has a great cosy feel but can still pack in a pretty big crowd on the busy weekend evenings. However, I thought the food was pretty awful.
