“Noisy, average food.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2013

We went for a birthday celebration, after being seated we were advised that the table is booked for another group in two hours-not a great start. My steak was very average, the hand cut chips were terrible; overall not worth the high price. To be fair, the scallops and tasting plate for two were both enjoyed by the other members of our party. The place is too noisy inside for a pleasant meal but great if you are hosting a boisterous party. Overall an average experience at an above average price.

“When there are so many other choices why bother.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 13, 2013

Last Sunday we booked here for a quiet lunch to catch up with friends.
At first they could'nt find the booking, then it was located. We were seated, and within a short time our order for drinks taken. A short time later our meal order was taken, so far so good!
It took 1 hour and 10 minutes for our entree to arrive (without plates), meaning we had a bit of a mess handling the breads we'd ordered between us, I have to add that there were just not that many people around and it was now after 2.30pm. Around 1/2 an hour later our mains arrived. Pizzas - without plates again, when we asked for them 2 tiny side plates were delivered with the aside of 'I can't give you more, we have run out'! While the scallop dish was delicious (it was very small) the pizzas were bland and cool. The service here was very ordinary, the atmosphere was almost non-existant that day. The 'seasonal menu' very limited, and the view only just, it really depends on where you are seated!!
When there are so many amazing choices along this lovely area of Newcastle I don't know why you'd bother, I know we won't again.

“Great Menu”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2013

Landed here after a boozy lunch at silo. A few drinks down the track I found the truffle chips to be absolutely amazing. Flavoursome, crisp, but in no way timely..

I found myself salivating at the rest of the menu, but i only had a stomach for a snack. Am definitely keen to come back and try a real meal to see how they go.

“Great food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 3, 2013

Went for dinner on a Friday night with the family and some friends. Everyone's food was delicious and we didn't have to wait long between courses. The staff were very friendly, attentive and able to answer any questions we had. All in all everyone had a great night and I will definitely go back again.

“Don't bother!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2013

Very disappointing. Arrogant staff and manager, no kids high chairs, kids burger meal was huge with a meat pattie at least 3cm thick! Expensive. Beer options were very average but over priced. Bouillabaisse was bland, fish in the fish in chips were old, steak was tough.... Apart from an alright view it was a below average.
