This is a beautiful old Cathedral with views overlooking Newcastle. Climb to the top of the bell tower for an extra special aspect of your visit.

When you walk inside...it sure is a grand building

Sombre mood as you move around to the tomb of Newcastle's own unknown soldier, you almost have total access to the church

And the view from the hill it's on is terrific!!!

There is a lot of beauty and colour within this famous church & the views & surrounding gardens are quite beautiful. There is a real sense of serenity both inside and outside of the church. If like us you meet a local who can give you a description of the cathedrals history you will find it a very interesting story. The nave altar platform which can be raised & lowered is amazing. Its definitely worth visiting during your stay in Newcastle.

Situated high on the hill overlooking the Port of Newcastle, NSW is magnificent. Of great interest is THE WARRIORS CHAPEL, which is classified as a National War Memorial. It is full of rare artifacts and memorabilia most specific to the Hunter Region. It is also the Australian home of the Toc H Society, started in WW1 in Flanders (Belgium). The Cathedral is open every day and while it is free entry, a donation for cathedral upkeep is appreciated.

The view looking towards the harbour & Stockton is magnificent. The interior of the Cathedral is magnificent. If you want a great photo go across to Stockton at night & get a brilliant shot when it's lit up.
