I had great service from reservation, although the centralised website is hard to navigate! Communicate directly with the hotel I'd say. I got a great room, not quite what I asked for but quiet and with a water view. The bed and blockout curtains are great for busy travellers, I had great sleeps each night. I skipped breakfast as there are great options very close to walk to, but the room service menu and food is good for dinner! A very limited and non-local wine list though, sadly, for so close to the Hunter region. Lovely staff, attentive service and very helpful. Valet parking is easily the best alternative despite the cost. Definitely the best option in this city.

Room Tip: Ask for a view and away from lifts; lots of options - don't try doing it yourself on the website...

Grismans, thank you for your lovely review.

Our room service menu is extensive - I'm glad that you enjoyed your meal! Of course, a relaxing and restful night's sleep is the essential ingredient for a great stay. It's great that you received this.

Thank you for your room tip - you're correct that calling in-house reservations is the best way to ensure that specific room requests are met!

Good location and fantastic veiw. Rooms and nie, pool is good, towles and linen good, clean and comfortable bed. Rooms are starting to date but overall good presentation, well set out and furnished. The block out curtains are excellent and you will get a good nights sleep. Service is not so good, the restaurant menu is ok but plenty of better selections in the immediate area. Bar is average. Breakfast is typical of chain hotels. TV and selection of channels is a nightmare to workout.

Moei-Oz, thank you for your feedback.

It's wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the view, rooms and amenities - your comments are much appreciated!

Please accept my apologies that you did not receive the service we strive to deliver. I can understand your frustration at the many television channels to choose from - there is a printed channel guide in front of every television for reference for future stays.

We have stayed here several times and have always been satisfied with the room, its cleanliness. Harbour facing views add to the hotel's ambience.
All staff, whether reception or restaurant have been, in our experience, friendly, courteous and helpful.
Whilst we haven't dined in the restaurant we have enjoyed breakfasts there. Can highly recommend the omelette, even though you may have to wait a while, usually because of the demand during peak
breakfast times. It's worth the wait!
As other reviews have stated the location of Crowne Plaza, Newcastle is one of its great positives. Whilst I would agree, I feel that the staff are the most positive aspect of this hotel. Once again, in our experience with this establishment, we cannot fault the service it provides.
Parking can be a problem, although at $29 per night, this is better than most "inner-city" hotels, where the usual expense can be up to $45. There is alternative public parking close by.
My only gripe, is regarding free WiFi availability in room. Whilst this hotel isn't the only one that doesn't provide this service it is about time that Australian chain hotels did so. Why is it that you can have this service in many hotels ( smaller and not "chain hotels" in Europe), but not here, in Australia .
Obviously, this problem is not a reflection on this hotel. We really enjoy our stays here.

As a loyal frequent guest, your feedback is of great value to us! We're glad that you enjoy the buffet breakfasts, but I would, of course, recommend coming in for dinner!

We stayed at the Crowne Plaza for several nights for a wedding, great location and the room with the view over the harbour was well worth it.

the extra charges are quite rich, $29 for valet parking and its one of the few places in the world that still charges for access to the internet, they need to move with the times.

The roms are not that quiet, its very easy to hear people in the hallway and outside on the board walk.

A very comfortable hotel property in an excellent position with water views to the Hunter River and virtually in the hub-bub of a bustling cargo port. The room was generally fine but three things disappointed: Not one, but both TV were unserviceable on arrival and had to be tuned by the IT guy; and the electronic room door failed, locking me out and required maintenance!!!

On a very positive note the buffet breakfast was excellent in quality and selection ranging from freshly squeezed fruit juice to freshly made omelettes with exceptional helpful staff on hand to assist.

Would definitely stay here again when I am in Newcastle.

Just returned from 2 nights in suite 416 at the Crowne Plaza. We had such an enjoyable stay. The room was clean and spacious, with great views across Newcastle Harbour. The hotel is within walking distance of Darby St, Hunter St Mall, the beach and the many restaurants in the Honeysuckle/ Lee Wharf area. On our second night we had dinner at the Seasalt Restaurant in the hotel which was excellent. The hotel staff were all very friendly and I would definitely return to stay again.

Room Tip: Book a suite. Room 416 was great.
