“Business Travel in Newcastle”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 3, 2014

I stayed at these apartments courtesy of work, and it was fantastic. Clean, central, large with restaurants and supermarkets in walking distance, it was like home away from home. Would recommend it for a stay in Newcastle. And even though I was there for business there is no reason couples of families could not stay there too.

3 Bedroom apartment for 3 couples on a one night two day cycling adventure around Newcastle.

Friendly and efficient check in/out. Location a short 10 min walk to the Honeysuckle cafe/restaurant strip.

Apartment well appointed with kitchenette and lounge room, very clean. Bathrooms also well appointed, clean with complimentary toiletries - fluffy towels. Very comfortable pillows and bedding.

Bedroom - which may have been the main - with en suite was very stuffy - musty smelling - which could not be overcome by opening window as the window seemed to be corroded closed.

We didn't have the opportunity of using the pool or gym facilities - due to lack of time.

Overall a very pleasant stay, to which we would return, however, must question the $25 per night/day fee for secure parking when there appeared to be many, many vacant parking spaces.

Friends with older cars decided to park on the street - which on this occasion - turned out to be ok - however - if the cars had been damaged overnight the story may have had an unhappy ending.

Recommended

Room Tip: inquire about $ of parking overnight in secure area

I stayed at the Quest Serviced Appartments in Newcastle for business.

Location:
- It was excellently located close to the office, so no complaints there.

Staff:
- The staff were extremely friendly and efficient, and a pleasure to deal with.

Gym:
- The one major disappointment was the absolutely dismal gym in the appartments. It consisted of a cycle, and a home gym type aparatus, and no free weights or anything else. The main irritation on top of it all was that the light keeps switching itself off... so if you are on the cycle... you have to keep stopping and getting off... or you are cycling in pitch darkness! Although, apparently there is some arrangement with the gym next door where for a reduced fee you can use their facilities - but that doesn't help with the relatively short operating hours? (It was closed when I wanted to have a go).

Other than the gym issue - I cannot complain, as the appratment was large, well apponted, clean and perfectly suited for the stay otherwise, and the staff were really very friendly and efficient.

I went there to do business, it have a lot there, for a family or a couple, ,, they didnt show me all about the room and I had to ask to the cleaning one,, they also charge you a lot for the breakfast, that is why people will be able bring its own food and keep at the refrigerator.
After 11.00pm ,, there is not human being like operator,, about the cleaning,, well they told me that the sheets are going to be cleaning in three working days so I decided to complain.

Thank you for your review. We view all feedback as essential, allowing us to continually improve our business and exceed guest expectations. Located right in the heart of Newcastle, many guests take advantage of Marketown Shopping Centre and the Honeysuckle district within a short walk from the property. Alternatively, Quest Newcastle are pleased to offer a pantry order service and local restaurant chargeback options that deliver directly to your apartment door.

We are excited for the new world class development of our surrounds; with plans for a Wine bar, niche commercial spaces and shopping precinct. With initiatives to form a dynamic city centre, soon to be the perfect hub to live, work and play. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

Kindest Regards,

The Quest Newcastle Team.

I stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment with some friends for a night out in newcastle.

I have to call the hotel several times before booking to organised the beding arrangements as my friends kept changing their minds. I then required an early check in, all of this was no problem for the reception staff (Katie and Kaitlyn)

I know if I had been working there I would have been so sick of me but they were so happy to help and always had a smile on their faces.

Very reasonably priced, although I think a $200 bond is a little steep, especially since I wasn't aware of it prior to check in and was unsure whether I would be able to pay that on top of the hotel fee.

All in all lovely stay and highly recommend.

A friend and I stayed in a 2bedroom apartment for two nights to attend a wedding. The first night we were very late due to flight cancellations but when I called, the staff at Quest were very helpful and said if we missed office hours, the night manager would be there to meet us. I also asked for a breakfast pack and it was easy to have it added to the room at 10.45pm. They have several options and all the utensils you would need to cook your own delicious breakfast, including dishwasher!
The bigger bedroom with ensuite was very quiet and dark and the king bed very comfortable. The smaller room was a bit more exposed to street noise but nothing unexpected.
There were pedestal fans supplied in both rooms for extra cooling. Towels were clean and soft.
The staff were consistently friendly, helpful and informed. The only thing I found frustrating about the apartment was that there are no exhaust fans in either of the bathrooms and the shower head in the main bathroom wasn't very good so we both used the one in the ensuite.

Stayed here a few days for work and enjoyed it. There are closer places to the beach, however its position suited me.
Staff were attentive and everyone when passing in the corridors or in the lift made a point of saying hello.
Extra costs for wifi is not cheap and these days should be standard, however everything else was good.
Extra TV in the bedroom is always nice.
