“Very clean. Value for money”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2014

We stayed at the Ibis a few years back and this time we had to attend a send off so we re-booked there. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms clean. The rooms aren't big but hey you aren't paying to dollar. This hotel is value for money. One of the reasons we decided to go back was that the breakfast last time was great. It has slipped a bit. Very basic (buffet), scrambled egg (luke warm), baked beans, bacon, sausage, tomato, toast, coffee machine, cereal, juice. Probably not that bad value for $15.

We were in the Hunter for two nights to go to a concert at Hope Estate - all the wine country hotels and B&Bs were full (and expensive) so quite a few people ended up in Newcastle.

Room was clean and quiet, #220 on second floor overlooking carpark (and KFC drivethrough but double glazed window kept the noise out well. The train line runs behind the hotel but the electric trains are quiet and the windows keep the noise out when they pass. Aircon was a little noisy but really not more than your average hotel unit.

Bed was comfortable. Room had basic facilities (iron, kettle etc). Well located for getting to the restaurants etc on the river front and the city centre - esp if you have a car. Carpark was full when we returned at midnight on the Saturday but we found a spot next door.

Room Tip: The elevator makes a little ding noise - so the couple rooms next to the lift may be worth avoiding...

In regards to the noise coming from our Air-con units I am happy to say that we are in the process

Your comments are appreciated and we do hope to welcome you back here at ibis Newcastle.

We stayed for just one night and it was great for the money.
The fold out bed for our 2 yo was perfect, although the clock and phone within reach of the childs bed probably not well thought out. The room was very clean and well stocked.
The area can be a bit noisy and we couldn't seem to close the window properly.
The staff were great, very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was not very good and we completely missed the espresso machine and had nescafe instead, Yuk!

Room Tip: I would ask to be away from the road
