Good location, view, food. Anyway love this hotel.

After check in, there were 3 beds in the room for 2 people. Couldn't understand it because I booked for 2.

The rooms were clean and certainly adequate and the staff were polite. The beachside location was sensational - so much to see - could spend all day watching the eerily fascinating tankers slowly make their way up and down the coast.

My biggest problem was the noise from traffic. I wasn't really expecting it. It pays to look at Google Earth first to identify whether there is excessive traffic noise flowing past the hotel at which you choose to stay. The location was nice, but I had a lot of trouble sleeping. Especially with the revhead hoodlums hooning up and down the road in the middle of the night.

Having a huge window looking down on the Beach is what a trip to Australia is all about. We didn't book a dinner the first night, which was foolish as the restaurant was really nice, but booked out. Glad we were better organised for the second night.

Bit on the dated side. The rooms are not coherent with their decor which I find really odd. The room I had was BLUE. Blue carpet, blue bedspread, blue curtains, blue chairs...it was really unnerving. The balcony is very, very tiny but the views are incredible.

Bathroom was modern and clean, TV old and picture quality very bad. The hotel, however, is really nice and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The restaurant is sensational, have eaten here twice for dinner and twice for breakfast and each time, the food was divine.

Brilliant little ice creamery across the road too. Make sure you try it!

I visited Newcastle with my teenage daughter in April . We had a room on the third floor with a view of the beach which was really beautiful, it had a tiny balcony but you could open it up and hear the ocean. Newcastle has the most beautuful coastline and this is the only place to stay in Newcastle where you can be right on the main beach. It's a short walk to the habour and the city and there are lovely coastal walks. The restaurant is excellent and we found the staff very helpful. The rooms are small and a bit dated but definatley worth it for the view.

The ideal location for a peaceful family holiday. Beautiful view of the ocean from your room, although not located exactly on the beach. You can walk across a road and stroll on to the beach.

We stayed here for a week in December 2006. The staff was very friendly. There is no porter service for ferrying your luggage to your room. You have to haul the luggage using the hotel provided trailer cart.

The room service is excellent and the sight of pretty sweet-natured girl-staff is very soothing. The toiletaries provided in the room are of excellent quality and I enjoyed a pleasant stay.

The breakfast was very good, however it took a lot of time to get your order delivered onto the table, probably due to understaffing.

We stayed for one night and were happy with the hotel. For no particular reason we choose to eat out at the restaurant next door, the Sandbar, which turned out to be an excellant choice and we had one of the nicest meals of our holiday.
