“Really great lunch, good value. Quick, friendly service.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2013

Stumbled upon this little gem looking for somewhere to lunch. What a find. Friendly staff, quick service & fresh food.
I had the california rolls & gyoza pork. Was disappointed that they were deep fried, not pan fried but they were still very light & tasty.
Restaurant was clean, easy to park out the front (although you have to pay!) and meals were served quickly & were fresh.
Reasonably priced at $49 for two with tea.

“Tasty food, easy service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2013 via mobile

The food is great, especially the sushi rolls at lunch. All made to order it's worth the wait. The Yaki-udon is always a wonderful dish, but the gyoza would be better steamed or pan-fried as opposed to the crispy fried ones served. A great place though.

Must say the food here is consistently excellent; we eat here at least once a week and the standard is always high and great value.

“disappointing”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2013

We went with a living social voucher for $69 worth of food. The real menu was taken away from us and a restricted menu offered. Miso soup or green tea and one main meal for each of two people. We asked to swap the 2 miso soups for one serve (2) of spring rolls. No. If we wanted spring rolls we would have to pay extra. The menu had no sushi or sashime. There was no way you could reach $69. Ok - so we went ahead - the main meal and the soup were served together. The main meal was good but the overall experience was very poor and we will not return. Someone should explain to these people the purpose of the 'deal' vouchers is to attract new customers to try your restaurant. We felt short changed and poorly treated.

One of my favourite places to eat in Newcastle....food is always fresh & tasty....the staff are always friendly & make your eating experience pleasant.....prices are very cheap & the mixture of Japanese & Korean cuisine is great.....BYO too.....i always return to Sushi Castle for my Japanese fix.
